I would like recommendations of shows similar to Star Trek TNG in terms of philosophy.

Star Trek the Next Generation is the best show of all time, I don't think I will ever see anything that will outclass it. However I've seen every episode many years ago, and although I could always re-watch it, I seek the spice of life that is new media. Since everyone here has seen Star Trek TNG, I would like to ask for recommendations for something similar to it.
Specifically I seek shows that match the moral philosophy that Star Trek TNG offered. I don't care about awesome special effects, although I'd prefer if it was science fiction. Please don't recommend other Star Trek series, I've tried getting into them, and never found the hook. It can be an anime, cartoon, anything. I've seen the anime Ergo Proxy, and enjoyed that for it's philosophy.
TLDR: Looking for a show similar to Star Trek TNG in terms of Philosophy. I'd prefer it to be science fiction, can be anime, but not another Star Trek series.

there's an anime movie I think you might like, it's not a show but still it's called Nausicaa valley of the wind. It has nothing to do with Nausicans from TNG.
Carl sagan's cosmos is a good show

A third vote for Nausicaa! Morally its definitely on par woth TNG, and its also just has a reallt chill comfy vibe most of the time.

I think that the strong veins of philosophy are what makes TNG so unique and worthwhile. I can't think of another good example for you.
A lot of post-apocalyptic shows show the philosophy of humans when they are at their worst (killing for food, fighting to stay alive, staying sane amidst insanity). You'll see this in Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Defiance).
But a show that instead explores philosophy when humans are at their absolute best? TNG may stand alone.
