how to monitor GPU usage by APPLICATION..?

Just like how task manager tells you the cpu usage per app so you know which apps are the most cpu extensive. I also want to know which apps are the most GPU extensive, how to check? something like task manager but for gpus.
Someone told me msi afterburner but i it gives me the overall gpu usage, which i don't need. I need to see gpu usage by applications open on my pc individually
DayneTreader@reddit
Task manager can tell you what programs are using the GPU if you have it enabled. With in the Task Manager Processes tab, right-click one of the columns and click GPU to enable usage tracking.

thank u bro, so many people tell me you can see it without telling me how.
Wonderful-Promise467@reddit
how do i see what is using my gpu dedicated memory?
Bunation@reddit
as u/DayneTreader mentioned, turn on GPU column. if you want to see which GPU is being used (if you have igpu and dedicated gpu) also turn on the "GPU Engine" column and you can see which GPU is being used. (GPU0 & GPU1 by default)
DayneTreader@reddit
Anything that is using the GPU is using its dedicated memory
Theoglaphore@reddit
I have the same problem and this is not true. My gpu utilization is low (4%) but 11.6GB of gpu dedicated memory is being allocated.
DayneTreader@reddit
Utilization doesn't look at how much of your memory is being used, it's how much of the GPU chip in your graphics card is being used. You can have 100% utilization while your VRAM is only at, say, 2.5/16GB.

I have a GPU issue that I cannot fix. My performance tanks from 60 to 20 for minutes at a time, all games and it always takes the same exact amount of time for it to start. Eventually it goes away and comes back. I've been troubleshooting this for days. I've noticed that if I alt tab out of the game, my GPU utilization drops and performance temporarily frees up. My games run fine, it's just whenever whatever is trying to run runs that it ruins it. I hope it's not hardware and, honestly, I'm at a lost with what to do. Any advice will be appreciated.
DayneTreader@reddit
What are the full specs of your computer?
Ill-Lychee-4613@reddit
GTX 1650 4GB
i5-10300H
16 GB RAM DDR4 (8 GB Stock, 8 GB installed myself, both Kingston)
1 TB Toshiba HDD
It's a laptop, thermal throttling isn't an issue since the GPUs aren't heating past their idle state. The GPUs themselves just throttle gameplay, but don't actually heat up (according to Task Manager and touch which is the weirdest part). Fans do go brrr, though.
DayneTreader@reddit
Don't rely on your hands to tell you how hot something is, get a software like HWMonitor. Also check the CPU temperatures, a 10th-gen i5 is probably at 100% utilization

Late to party, but I think this is useful. I coudn't find a way to see the gpu memory usage in the task manager "Processes" tab. However, in the "Details" tab you can right click any header -> click on "Select columns" -> enable "Dedicated GPU memory" or "Shared GPU memory".
