Obvious choice but I'd be lying if I didn't say the great white shark. As shark photographer Andrew Fox said they've got charisma. They've also got some abilities straight out of science fiction - inbuilt sat nav so they can perfectly map the routes of their phenomenal migrations, internal heat generation from endothermy allowing them to roam in cold waters, an ability to accelerate to 40kmph and breach over 4m above the surface with a 50%+ hunt success rate, electroreceptors to detect electrical currents in the water, and even growing evidence they may be capable of altering their skin tone within a few hours to better camouflage and ambush prey.
Channa_Argus1121@reddit
They’re also one of the few shark species that show spyhopping behavior.

Frilled sharks. The creepiest looking shark.

The lizard shark 😍

Greenland sharks, they have some crazy adaptations to survive in cold, deep water. Plus theres been some really cool research recently thats shown they can live to at least 250 years old (they might live as long as 500 years, but the data for that range is less reliable)

Shoutout Grey Nurse Sharks. They look scary like a White shark but are super chill so you can hang out with them while diving. Also intrauterine cannibalism is cool as hell

Thank you for the interesting post that made me stop and think about sharks. They are highly evolved and fascinating.
sharkfilespodcast@reddit
Wobbegong actually means 'shaggy beard' in an aboriginal Australian language, and that 'beard' is part of their brilliant disguise.
Unagi_42@reddit
I didn’t know that but it makes sense. Thanks
