Outside of total nuclear annihilation. How much cash should one keep on hand for a shtf scenario? I realize the federal dollar would be worthless in most shtf scenarios. But with that said, most of the sheep will still greedily accept dollars for a few days maybe a week after the main event. I’m already stocked on supplies, PM, lead... etc.. But one can only plan for so many scenarios. So ........

I understand having cash on hand if ATMs aren’t working, places only accepting cash, or your card is lost, stolen or not working.
Years ago, I lost my card once and reported to my bank that it was lost, thankfully that I had some money to hold me over until I get my new card.

used to keep a few benjamins in the truck until it got broken into and someone stole nothing but my cash out of it... now i don't keep cash in the truck i have a safe in my closet. personally i try to keep around 5k available in case of an issue but since i went through some set backs this past year that isn't realistic so around 1k to 1.5 is what i'm sitting with for emergency funds right now.
