Any recommendations for hostels / affordable accommodations in Florence Italy? (33F) I’m looking to meet people and socialize with other solo travelers. Any suggestions appreciated!

My Friends. It’s a great location plus it’s safe to walk to after dark, from the train station. I think I found it on Booking.com. You can essentially make yourself 3 meals a day from the stocked kitchen. It’s a 10 minute walk to see Michelangelo’s David.

what is the name of the stay?

i (30F) stayed at ostello bello last year. it was really easy to meet people, but also really easy to relax in your room if you wanted to recharge. walkable from the train station. it was a slightly younger crowd, but it didn’t bother me ans everyone was super friendly

was it super social?

yeah it was social! they have some days with events going on at the bar, but even when there isn’t an organized thing it’s pretty easy to just chill downstairs and meet people

I had a good experience at YellowSquare, but it did have younger/party hostel-ish vibes?

definitely agree, i loved my stay at YellowSquare but could see it not being for everyone!!

was it party or social vibes

it was a good mix!! they have social events like tours and things like that to meet people but also have a basement with a “club” and drinking games if you’re into that. that said, i couldn’t really hear anything late at night from the dorms from what i remember

I did a private room at Plus in Florence. They have a pool and a rooftop bar, so lots of opportunities to socialize. I got a private room but they also had dorms.

You can find a number of old convents to stay at in Florence https://www.monasterystays.com/?d=Italy/Tuscany/Florence-accommodation
For a more conventional one try The Social Hub, great rooftop pool it’s a cool spot
