What happened to cream horns?

The cream filled pastries that were like a rolled up croissant? I remember having them all the time growing up and I randomly thought about them today after realizing that I haven't seen one in like 30 years.

I pick them up at the grocery store from time to time, or from an actual bakery. My great grandfather was a baker and used to make them, so mom and her siblings have fond memories of them. Still hoping to get ahold of his recipes...

There is a lady who is affectionately known as “The Amish Lady” that travels the festival circuit selling baked goods and she always has those. She’s out of Pennsylvania so that checks out.

Love these fucking things! They don't sell them around here that I've seen, but I used to buy them regularly when I still lived in Texas. I remember when I was little my mom took a job selling them from a stand at the racetrack during the super nationals.

Things that were 120% sugar by weight disappeared in the late 90‘s. Just after candy/gum meant to imitate tobacco products. As a physically fit person who smokes a pack a day since 12, I‘m torn between missing chocolate covered chocolate, creaa as m horns, big league chew, etc. and being glad that none of my kidsare smokers, or obese…
