What have you bought/done recently that you thought was great value?

Sainsbury’s sells some house plants fairly cheap I managed to get a few small ficus elastica and ficus ruby plants for £3.50 each so will try to take cake of them and see them grow

I bought two spider plants from Tesco about a year ago and now I have 6 spider plants. I could have more (from propagating the spiderettes) but I just don't have the room. Spider plants are great value for money! The plant that keeps on giving.

I have a spider plant! It’s recovered numerous times from neglect. How do I use it to create more spider plants? I’m not sure what a spideret is 😅

Does yours grow long arms with little mini spiders at the end of each one? Those are the spiderettes. If you cut one off and pop it in a glass of water for a week or so, it will grow roots. You can then pop it into a small pot with soil and now you magically have a new plant.

Yes it has grown them I’ve always trimmed them back to tidy it up! Lesson learnt, I’ll pop them in water next time, thanks! 👍

Got a mattress really cheap off with strategic use of discount vouchers and sales. A Nutella marshmallow cronut never disappoints. Had a really good delivery order once. After I finished eating I had a glow in my disposition. Got a nice flight on holiday a few years ago and it ended up only being like 2-3 hours more than a direct flight. Really good airline and the food was nice too.

I'm really bad on the bank and credit card deals. I admit I don't trust myself enough to enroll into them because I can't read the rules, I get so bored. Then I get overwhelmed and close it. Even with money saving expert.

I brought ice cube tray from Morrisons. These ones have bigger 'holes' so they make bigger ice cubes instead of the cocktail ones. It was a blessing in the heat because the ice took longer to melt and cooled the drink more

For experiences, something you want to do regularly. You get more out of it the more you put in. I recently started taking pole dance classes for fun/fitness/social connections. I love it. I’ve also done a couple of shows for fun, where the whole experience (including lots of time practicing) was free to me. That specific thing is unlikely to be your vibe! But the point is lots of things get more fun the more you do them.

Yes that’s very true and a great way to think about many different things. Mines probably cycling. Once an initial investment is made it can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be!

Every year we take my girlfriend’s mum down to Cornwall to visit and stay with her friend for six weeks, and we usually make a few days out of it ourselves before driving back home. We stay in the same Premier Inn every year which usually costs us £600-£700 for the sake of 3 nights. This year it only cost us about £295 we couldn’t believe it

Some Premier Inns are quite good value. Certainly more so than Holiday Inns. I’ve got a night and camberley tomorrow en-route to Cornwall for £85 one night with my two kids which I would say is good value.

Tiller and Wheel - sailing experience on a Thames Sailing barge that is a bit coming up to 115 years old. £10 donation, well it's a deposit that they will refund if you want to make it totally free, but of course they're quite happy to keep that too. You're shown how it all works and get to try the different jobs needed for it to operate. Based near Medway in Kent.
