No words...ššš
BoosterRead78@reddit
I remember when she did the Hallmark Enterprise Commercial.
Knut_Sunbeams@reddit
RIP Patti. Always one of my favourite minor characters on TNG. Would loved to have seen what she and the writers could have done with her character if she ended up on DS9.
CedgeDC@reddit
Her presence was always a sweet reassuring example of the competence and empathy of the enterprise crew.
This is truly sad. I wish her family well.
Republiconline@reddit
Sad. Pattiās portrayal of Nurse Ogawa was incredibly heart warming. Only one other nurse compares and thatās Nurse Chapel. But my Nurse Chapel was Oqawa. Now we will have to deal with Lieutenant Oqawa.
TheRhupt@reddit
She was one of my favorite characters.
beeemmvee@reddit
Dr. Ogowa! (at least in that one episode)
No!! I love the episode where she's remembering her grandmother painting and drinking the bitter paint water. Oh, then troi and a bunch of other people get absolutely mind-raped. But I love that part where she's remembering.
drrhrrdrr@reddit
Oh man that's hard. I loved her performance in TNG: Lower Decks. They really fleshed out her character in the last season and it was great.
DanieruKisu@reddit
Definitely, I just watched that episode last night.
bluenoser18@reddit
RIP Patti.
Always felt she deserved a little more out of Star Trek, Brannon Braga/Rick Berman.
Was surprised she didnāt get an offer for main cast in DS9 or Voyager.
Accomplished-Hat6417@reddit
So sad, I loved her in Star Trek. Rip
SomethingAboutUsers@reddit
Man fuck cancer.
TurnoverOk2740@reddit

Raw dog it... Too much?
TurnoverOk2740@reddit
wow. R.I.P. to a familiar face. cancer can suck a dick
Wrong-Music1763@reddit
Rest in peace Nurse Ogawa.
kkkan2020@reddit (OP)
Or doctor Ogawa in a alternate reality
Jean-LucBacardi@reddit
I'd like to think regardless she became Doctor eventually.
Zauberer-IMDB@reddit
I like to think there's nothing wrong with being a nurse.
Dizzy-Violinist-1772@reddit
Absolutely not, thereās nothing wrong with being a nurse, but her character seemed interested in raising the ranks so it would make sense for her to become a doctor
ChaseDeV88@reddit
How about an NP? Makes more sense to me to continue your education a further 3-4 years than start over back in med school.
Malacro@reddit
We donāt really know how doctor certification works in the far future.
kkkan2020@reddit (OP)
In the beta cannon she became chief medical officer on the galaxy class uss challenger in 2382
Wrong-Music1763@reddit
Very true.
beastman45132@reddit
Rip Patti. Thank you for all of your wonderful work
Null_Singularity_0@reddit
What? NOOOOO!!!! I didn't know this happened.
Lazy-Lab-7954@reddit
Oh no š„
HumpaDaBear@reddit
I got to meet her at my first ST convention. She was so sweet. This sucks.
suzepie@reddit
Same here, and it was also one of her first conventions. She was totally gobsmacked at the lineup of folks to meet her, because she didnāt think of herself as having that big of a role and didnāt think that many people would know her. It was in 1994 or 95.
JuicyMcJuiceJuice@reddit
I wouldn't wish cancer on my enemies... not that I have any but still. Fuck cancer, man. Bullshit disease.
Mini_Marauder@reddit
It's literally your own cells being retarded. What an awful way to go.
Sivalon@reddit
Prions too. Your own proteins saying ānah, fuck this guy, weāre gonna go rogue and stop proteining.ā And your brain slowly turns to crap.
Beautiful_Business10@reddit
Rest in peace, Mrs. Yasutake.
Michael-Aaron@reddit
I cannot stop crying...please tell me this is a lie...
kkkan2020@reddit (OP)
It's real
Michael-Aaron@reddit
NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
ShitItsReverseFlash@reddit
Fuck cancer. Iāve lost my dad and my uncle (his brother) to it in the past 3 years. Seeing it take away people that I love gave me a new level of hatred for it.
FlyingAceComics@reddit
Damn it. R.I.P. to one of the best nurses in Starfleet, and an adorable actress.
leandroman@reddit
Did she the jab?
amg433@reddit
I got it. So did everyone I know. Whereās our cancer?
leandroman@reddit
Hope it didn't increase your chances significantly... Everyone's body works different, that's why they usually go through 5-10 years of testing before it's released. Except in 2020. There were too many billions to make off the treasury. As Frank Underwood would say: Just too much of a big fat juicy t*t...
kkkan2020@reddit (OP)
Its possible from 2020-2022 lots of people got all kinds of medications and jabs....I'll just leave it up to people imagination
Foxmulder111@reddit
Rest in peace
getmybehindsatan@reddit
Ever since I found out that actors get paid more if they say 5 or more lines, I've been counting her lines in rewatches. Only been a couple that she was in where she didn't get the pay boost.
Physical-Name4836@reddit
That episode lower decks, she was really great in it. Always liked her character, she was a great actress.
devlincaster@reddit
God dammit.
DixonDebussy@reddit
As an Asian, growing up, I didn't really see many Asians in mainstream, so I did tend to latch on to actors who were, but I really loved her character. One of my favorite moments of hers was when Dr. Crusher was suspended for doing an autopsy against a family's tradition and, when Ogawa found out Crusher was trying to research more, she just helped
androidguy50@reddit
RIP
Sorry_Masterpiece350@reddit
Beat buses in the whole fleet
4RealMy1stAcct@reddit
She was great on Beef as the mother in law Ali Wong's character could never please
Marcusinchi@reddit
So sad. RIP.
BRYAN1701@reddit
Awe. This is awful news.
hobbestot@reddit
Oh no!!! Manā¦ RIP
CommanderSincler@reddit
Dammit, I liked Patti. I met her once, she was very personable
Mr_Badger1138@reddit
Aww, that sucks.
ScaredPresent3758@reddit
That's really sad. She didn't get a lot of screen time but she was an integral part of the crew.
subywesmitch@reddit
I loved her both as an actress and as a character!
Menzicosce@reddit
Oh no š that is terrible.
saucekingrich@reddit
RIP Patti
