Lian Li Strimer V2 plus is not detected by L-Connect 3 on NZXT B650e

I'm using Lian Li Strimer for both the 24-pin cable and the 8-pin PCI-e cable.
The Strimer has a hub which is connected via SATA power and the 24-pin PSU extensions and the 8-pin extensions RGB leads are connected to the Lian Li RGB hub.
The Lian Li RGB hub is connected to the first 5V ARGB1-2 3-pin 5V LED header of the motherboard.
I'm getting no lights in the Strimer RGB at all and the L-Connect 3 software doesn't detect it either.
I tried a different SATA cable but no difference.. any ideas?

That’s because the instructions are shit, the 5v argb cable is an alternative, you don’t connect that one if you want to use l-connect.
You use only the usb 2 header for L-Connect control, the other 5v argb connector is so that you still get some functionality and control if you bought for example, the 8 pin gpu strimer and not the 24 pin with the control box with it.
So you have some basic colour control using the motherboard or you use the usb 2 header and get full functionality from L-connect.
Also check that you’ve got the switch on the controller to the correct position.

It doesn't work at all just with the argb connector. Its needs the USB one to actually see any lights. Just argb on its own does nothing.. I saw in a video that it said you can use either or but that wasn't true

your sata power cable, the rail of 4 probably is having other device connected which is drawing too much current causing the software to be unable to detect.
u can try having sata power cable to only strimer controller, try again L connect should work. i face this problem also

Yeah honestly i've never even tried the argb connector but i know it's one or the other, your motherboard might just be struggling to detect it, i know in Asus's Armoury Crate, it will search for rgb devices but then it will ask you how many individual LED's are in the specific device, so that it can calibrate it, its not very user friendly. I feel like L-Connect could do with some changes though, i find it pretty irritating to program each individual strimer lane of LED's but it's still better than motherboard rgb detection.
