Azure migrate - Blue screen - Not CrowdStrike related Issue

Hey folks, I am working on migrating VMs to Azure, before July 19th test migration and migration was successful for all VMs, after July 19th all test migration and migrations are failing with blue screen, the issue is not related to CrowdStrike which happened after mentioned date, I am sharing this post to see if there is anyone has faced this issue before or now.
On-Prem virtualization environment is running on VMware, issue happens on any Windows server version, I have 2016 and 2019. I am using agentless Azure migration.
Troubleshooting failed attempts:
-
Disk repair on a recovery VM.
-
Creating a VM using the failing unbootable disk on Hyper-V role installed on recovery VM, the disk of the failing VM booted successfully to login screen, I then swapped the OS disk after the boot is completed with the failing VM and still the original failing VM starting with repair loading screen and then blue screen with option to continue to Windows Server.
-
Enabled memory dump but it was not created.
-
Tried safe mode through serial console and still same issue.

A new finding:
It seems that the data disk is the issue, the VM boots successfully to the login screen without the data disk attached to it.
However, same issue happens if we attach same data disk to any other VM or recovery VM. It only happens during the boot, not when you attach the data disk to a running VM.

Ah alright, this looks like a boot partition oddity. Boot the machine without the data disk and inspect the partitions on the data disk after its up. There's probably something there or in the BCD and the boot order is causing it to fail

We're getting the same. Removing the data disk had no effect for us however, still sits on the recovery options like in your screenshot.

What's the actual blue screen error though
dest_unreachable@reddit (OP)
Error 0xC000021A
1Original1@reddit
That's definitely not the entire error though
godplaysdice_@reddit
That is a system process terminated error. Typically it will tell you which process terminated and with what status code if the error made it into the logs.

This is interesting.

Try again.
Disable all non native windows services and try again.
Is your boot disk somehow funky and you selected the wrong one?
I’ve moved 100s of VMware vms using your setup it’s almost always 3rd party bs messing up the process.

well, we'r still trying to figure out the issue before we do any of these changes as we have a lot of VMs so we cannot do any change till we know why this is happening.
