WHAT's your fav RAM, WHY, & WHO to avoid?

I build a lot of PCs for friends & acquaintances. Curious on the communities experience with RAM. Who is overpriced, who isn't reliable, what you like and why, etc etc.
WHAT: I usually go with Corsair Vengeance LPX
WHY: Cheap, and has never failed me.
AVOID: I don't have anyone I'd avoid thus far.
*Edit: Thanks for all your replies and insights. Learning lots, hope others do too

You seem to think these companies make RAM when they don't, there are only a handful of like 3 companies that actually make the memory. You're paying for a logo, heat spreader, pointless £0.02 RGB LEDs etc. Just like how the vast majority of AIO coolers are actually made by Asetek or arctic sells the same bearing fans as Noctua but for 5x cheaper.
RAM is RAM, if you need DDR4 3600 CL14, buy DDR4 3600 CL14.

I think that's...the exact reason WHY you should look into who to buy from?
Without knowing, someone could end up buying an overpriced product when better options exist.

Not all brands come with the same warranty.
Some offer lifetime warranties, while others simply vanish as soon as you encounter a problem.
And **build quality is NOT the same** — and yes, build quality **matters**.
A poorly soldered chip, a bad PCB trace, a faulty capacitor or resistor...
The symptoms might be subtle, but they can be devastating — for your program, your work, or even your other components.
Most reputable brands are generally safe when it comes to well-known, mature technologies.
**However**, for any **new type of RAM technology**, you should probably wait, or stick to **manufacturer brands** or **very well-known names**.
**Worse**, what you said here is just **plain false**:
There are only a handful of companies — you’re right about that — that manufacture **RAM chips**.
But you **completely missed** the point:
**RAM sticks** and **RAM chips** are **not** the same thing.
Most brands actually produce their **own PCBs** and have their **own designs**.
I can no longer bear these 'arguments' masquerading as pearls of wisdom, when all they are is blunt reasoning trimmed by Occam’s razor to the point of intellectual laziness.

wat are those 3 companies? it would be cheaper to buy from them

I used to think this, but I happened to develop some software for large TV manufacturer and I was checking the components list of the TV, they were all made by 2-3 manufacturers. So I enquired why not buy the $300 TV which uses the same components. The answer was that the difference between a $300 TV and $2000 TV of the same specs is in the rejection ratio of their quality assurance. When a $2000 TV rejects 15 of 100 TVs tested, the $300 brand rejects $1. This allows them to reduce cost to $300.
With regards to RAM, as they say RAM is RAM, and is a much simpler component list, which is why the comment above that says "if it isnt DOA, then it will run for 20 years" is very true.

Kingston Fury - always reliable and very accessible. Price is decent too
ghunt81@reddit
So I have been looking at Kingston Fury DDR4 3200 on newegg and the price just went up $20 in the last week, not sure why.

Is Kingston ram really as bad as some people say
TRASHBunnie69@reddit
I would deeply appreciate some help with buying new gigs of ram, so my pc is windows 10, 9 gen intel core 15 processor 9400. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB. Im thinking of buying 16 GBS Ive got the money but I genuinely have NO IDEA what brand or specs that would fit my pc Ive been laying off buying new specs and gigs like that for two years now because all of it is very confusing.

Kingston.

My favorite RAM is the cheapest RAM from any well-known company whom I trust to not be awful. That's any of Corsair, TeamGroup, G.Skill, Kingston, Silicon Power, Mushkin, PNY, Crucial, and ADATA.
RAM is RAM.
Caddy666@reddit
you forgot samsung, hynix and micron, who make the chips for these other companies...
Available-Plenty9257@reddit
Hynix is the worst.
Soft-Engineering5841@reddit
Why do you say that?
Henrath@reddit
Geil is also a longtime maker of RAM. OLOy and Neo Forza should also be fine. Klevv is owned by SK Group so they're good as well.
Pretty much the only ones to avoid are Timetec or brands that don't have a presence in your country.
darkcakeright@reddit
why avoid timetec? little late to the party but just found this thread
ExWhyZ1@reddit
I'm also wondering why
eucoda@reddit
anything shady a$$ cheap, and has little to no website or support email (which won't work) it should've been avoided... usually it doesn't have any youtube reviews or if there is very scarce
eucoda@reddit
I am stuck with Kingston, which is all over the vicinity there're less options...
I stir away from OEM RAMs, salvage from dead laptops.
If you have a laptop, PC, better email the MOBO maker instead for best recommended compatible RAM..
Been doing this since and never had issues.
e.g. I like this brand due to "coolness", aesthetically appealing looks, but if it's not recommended by the MOBO maker, I wont insist my will to try coz I don't wanna cry when issues shall arise
