I’m learning so much British slang from this show!
Alternative-Algae754@reddit
Yeah you have to watch out how to use it. People in the south don't know what 'beak' is for example. Different slang allover England.

Industry. Season 3 starts this week. At least it does here. I think other seasons aired UK first, but this season it might show in USA first

Cocaine and champagne, I would guess.
Blackjack_Davy@reddit
Bubbles or bubbly is definitely champagne the other I've not heard before, not surprising really
BabaJosefsen@reddit
Beak is a slang term for a nose...that would fit the coke reference.
JimmySquarefoot@reddit
It's definitely coke and champagne.
EmzyM@reddit
Yep & neuters me..... means he can't get it up.
Forya_Cam@reddit
Beak was a pretty common term for cocaine in the north west when I was growing up there.
Nyx_Necrodragon101@reddit
Bubbles is definitely either champagne, cava, prosecco or some other variety of sparkling white wine also known as 'bubbly'.
Beak I've never heard of but given the context I would assign it to some sort of class A drug. Basically he had the desire but not the ability to perform due to intoxication, not uncommon.

I've been away from England too long! I had no idea (until reading the replies here) what that phrase meant!

Got to admit its a new one on me, clearly I don't move in the right circles

Cocaine and champagne
Level_Ingenuity_1971@reddit
Can confirm - beak is snorting cocaine and bubbles or bubbly refers to champagne.
Mammyjam@reddit
“Cocaine and champagne stop me being able to get it up”
Venomenon-@reddit
Beak is definitely cocaine (goes up the nose, a nose is like a beak)
Bubbles is usually champagne but it might mean something else
AntoniaFauci@reddit (OP)
That could fit. The character who says it does do cocaine sometimes.
EldestPort@reddit
A lil bag of cocaine is sometimes referred to as a 'nose bag'
Qindaloft@reddit
Coke N Champers 😋
Norman_debris@reddit
Out of context I would have no idea. Is that definitely the line spoken?
AntoniaFauci@reddit (OP)
Here’s the full context. The character is a foul mouthed perverted London stock exchange trader who often blurts out crude comments to everyone at work. He’s talking avout his Christmas break, I believe Di is his fiance:
“Christmas at Di’s. Her dad’s so posh he’s basically disabled. I think the mom’s depressed. Three wines in, she started calling me her Chutney Prince! Mild incident when Di found my viagra…..Xmas lad! Beak and bubbles neuters me, old boy becomes a slug.”
mrshakeshaft@reddit
“I have to take viagra because taking cocaine and drinking champagne makes me impotent and causes my penis to resemble a small gastropod”
