1440p or 1080p with 7800xt? (FPS difference)

My new pc will have a 7600x and a 7800xt. I’m torn between whether I should get a 1080p or 1440p monitor. I have heard that 1440p looks better, but will lower your FPS.
My questions are:
-
How large is the FPS difference between 1080p and 1440p?
-
I know resolution is a GPU thing, but does increasing from 1080p to 1440p require a better CPU as well?

What's your fps goal?

I guess it depends on the game, but I would say at least 120.

Runs fine with med or high settings esp if you use FSR.

Can the 7800xt at least get 160fps or more on most game at 1440p with fsr on?

just check benchmarks on youtube there are hundreds for the 7800xt at 1440p at different settings for different games

For sure at medium settings

I'm using a 7800XT to drive a 1440p computer with a 1080p secondary monitor. It's more than capable.
The image quality difference between 1080p and 1440p is big, but the improvement going from 1440p to 4K is less. I dunno why that is, because for non-gaming tasks, both upgrades are about equal (more cells in your spreadsheet at once is great).

Get 1440p and just enable upscaling. About same performance as 1080p with better image quality.

7800 XT is definitely a 1440p card, unless you plan to try and do 1080p 240hz+. In which case you'd also want a 7800x3d.
I would just get a 1440p 144hz monitor.
Depends on the game, and settings. No straight forward answer. You can get a rough idea through benchmarks from youtube videos/written reviews.
No. Makes the CPU matter less for performance, actually.

7800xt is a 1440p card. And 7600x will not bottleneck.
FPS you can max out 165hz with high settings if you use FSR Quality
