How can I prepare for the inevitable loss of my parents?

45M. I have kids of my own. I come from a close knit family. My parents live about an hour and a bit away. (87M, 77F). Their health is starting to decline slowly, but steadily, my mum more than my dad.
I am terrified about how to come with the emotional impact of their loss. I speak to them often and text with my mum most days. I've spoken with and documented their childhoods and stories etc, but I still don't feel Ive done enough.
What, if anything, can I do to prepare myself for the day when they are no longer there?
Even just writing this makes me distraught.
