How do people get Rebodied classics onto the road on a modern chassis?

So I was having a chat to an engineer about rebodying my pre-ADR 1960's F Truck onto a more modern Isuzu chassis, or even a more modern F Truck Chassis And he's basically said "Not gonna happen unless you got seatbelts, modern lights, modern seats, and an airbag at least for the driver" He said it's pretty impossible to do without destroying what makes it a classic. But he did say if others have done it, ask them how they got it over and he's at least willing to look into how they got it over the line.
