What is the life span a computer mouse?

My guess would be:
- Gaming: 1 to 3 years.
- General use: 5–10 years.

I've been using my Razer Ouroboros for 10 years now and it still works fine, i game everyday and used to do so almost all day when i was in school. I've only recently started to notice my right click isnt always registering my clicks but that has only been going on a week.

I guess my mouse has lasted well beyond expectations then. I've gamed on my Glorious Model O for 5 years many hours a day and my left button stopped working today.

I wish there was someone building mice like the logitech mx518 in this day and age. Such high quality parts. After over 8 years of gameing shits still going strong, while a fucking razer chroma died after 1 year of cs go.

6 years later, here I am. 😅
The main brand mice are almost always trash. I've been using this Micro Center in-store bran Inland GM76 gaming mouse for over 4 years and it's still going strong. No shorts, and the left right middle side and 2 top buttons all still work. Middle mouse click is hit or miss now but it's not worth buying a whole new mouse over. I did just buy another recently as backup in case if happens to break. I've used my first one a ton.
The side finger grips have also started slipping, like, the glue came loose after 6 months on the left side and a few years later on the right one, but it's nothing a quick 10-second super glue job couldn't fix (nearly broke the side buttons doing it once but I was able to stick a knife in between the buttons to pry the glue out and it's been working ever since).
This mouse was only $20 btw, now only $15. Even a worker there recommended it over the big brand mice.

Steelseries Rival 300 just died (side button and plastic structure around it) after 10 years.
