Is intel 13-14th gen issue appearing on F variants? E.g. (i7 14700F)

I was going to buy an i7-14700K but heard about the stability issues. I've been digging through many sources and all the problems seemingly appear on K variants only. Are the stability issues appearing on F variants at all?
If not, am I better buying an intel i9-12900K or i7-14700F? Or should I just go with the i7-14700K?
P.S. I have a LGA1700 motherboard that I can't refund, otherwise I would've gone something else.

I own the 14700F and have not had issues so far. I also did research on this and have no evidence showing it affects the F variants. Seems it's the K and KF variants only. There will be a patch from Intel aiming to be delivered by mid-August that addresses the voltage request issue also.
One_Departure_1823@reddit
how long you own 14700f, if you don’t mind me asking because i recently got 14700f as well and just recently heard the news?
Unlikely-Committee74@reddit
No prob, I got my 14700f in February 2024.

How’s it now? I just got mine
Unlikely-Committee74@reddit
Sorry for the late reply. It's been fantastic, been gaming on it non-stop with zero issues. On Oblivion Remastered now. How's yours?
therealabrupt@reddit
It’s good I haven’t had any problems touch wood!

Still issue free 5 months later?

I’ve just bought a pc with an i7 14700F and I’m stress testing now and have updated bios to the 0x129 microcode and I had no prior blue screens before that. I think I may be in the clear hopefully. Fingers crossed. I also have not seen anything saying that f variants are affected. However, I did run across one post but it didn’t seem very confident that the F variants are affected. Wish I had have known this before spending a clean 1300 on a pc. I have 14 days to return and I have a 1 year warranty through ASUS, and going to get the warranty with best buy just in case.
Puzzleheaded-Load338@reddit
i returned that pc and got a ryzen build. not dealing with this shit
tiniyt@reddit (OP)
Aye your choice! Good luck and enjoy your PC.
Puzzleheaded-Load338@reddit
yes, it is my choice. i got the Ryzen 7 7700. i wont go intel again until they come out with their 16th gen and make sure all their shit is together.
Pokepunk710@reddit
hey man I was literally in the exact situation as you. I JUST bought a PC from bestbuy with a i7-14700F unknowing of its issues and I'm considering bringing it back. Is yours pre built? if so, could you help a brotha out with where you got it? I don't think my best buy had a good AMD pre built. thank you 🙏
SkilzdaGod@reddit
Did you buy the one with rtx 4060? I am considering on buying a similar one
Pokepunk710@reddit
I got one with a 4060ti
SkilzdaGod@reddit
Canada or states? Cause i cant see one in canada
Pokepunk710@reddit
in the states

Well I got a 4060 ti with my amd Ryzen 7 7700 From cyberpowerpc. And I’ve been loving it. I just upgraded my ram to 32. Originally it came with 1 single stick of 16 GB. Which I was absolutely not going to run in this system. So I got 2 sticks of dual channel Corsair RGB 16 GB to make 32. I love my 4060 ti to death and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I have been buying from cyberpower for years and have not had a single issue.
but, if you are looking for something else, you’d probably be better off going to their site. But if budget is your main concern like mine was, this one (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-master-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-7-7700-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4060-ti-8gb-2tb-ssd-white/6575112.p?skuId=6575112&ref=212&loc=1&utm_source=feed&extStoreId=417) is definitely really good. Its also got an 850 PSU so if I wanted more power I could get a 4070 and stick it in no problem. It’s very upgradable.

ended up finding an actual very good deal! it's the same as yours, at least what you told me, and honestly a better deal, I got so lucky man. 4060ti, ryzen 7 7700, 32ram. $980, it was on sale $200 off, gets here Thursday. let's go!
Puzzleheaded-Load338@reddit
just make sure your powersupply is not apevia. if it is, upgrade it promptly! but that's awesome man! i'm very happy you found a good pc! that's definitely a steal in my books. lemme know how it runs!
Pokepunk710@reddit
appreciate it a lot man genuinely, I'm in such a rut rn lol, I'm definitely gonna follow some of this advice. mine was a pretty decent deal but I'll probably bring it back, gotta try to find another good deal. never used cyberpower ill look into them for sure
Puzzleheaded-Load338@reddit
Sorry I couldn’t do an embedded link
Puzzleheaded-Load338@reddit
I got it while it was on sale for 1,049 bucks. Was such a steal
Puzzleheaded-Load338@reddit
i returned my intel pc and got a ryzen build (AMD ryzen 7 7700)
MrTriggrd@reddit
youd be best with a 12900k. all 13th and 14th gen i7s and i9s are affected by the instability issues. i just think the issues are less reported on f variants since more people use the k variant than f
tiniyt@reddit (OP)
I see, thanks for the answer. That's a bummer.
Puzzleheaded-Load338@reddit
what did this guy say?
tiniyt@reddit (OP)
I don’t remember what I ate for breakfast today, let alone what this guy said 36 days ago. 🤣 I saw your other comment, do not worry, think you should be fine with the new update, people tend to to be overdramatic.
Puzzleheaded-Load338@reddit
Sorry to bother you.
MrTriggrd@reddit
just after writing this i realized that i5s dont have the same issues as the i7s and i9s. if i were you id go with a 13600k or 14600k
tiniyt@reddit (OP)
Thanks again, and yeah maybe I should go with the 14600k. First, I'm going to wait 1-2 months, in hope that they release some updates on stability. I might need extra cores that 12900k offers. I render videos often and need this PC for productivity, adobe products (which do well on intel), that's why I didn't go for AMD initially. But I did the absolute dumbest mistake of buying a motherboard just because it was on sale. Well, I did not know intel had issues then but buying the motherboard as your first PC part seems so obliviously stupid to me, and I did that. Can't really refund anymore. Anyway, I checked my motherboard page, and they just released a new BIOS 4-5 days ago on top of the other ones.
I really want the 14700k with its iGPU, but TBH man, I think I'm just being over optimistic here. IDK. This shit lost me sleep for a few nights now.
MrTriggrd@reddit
15th gen is rumored to be using lga 1851, so sadly your options will probably be stuck the way they are. i would suggest against buying an i7 or i9 right now as intel is reported to have been denying RMA requests as a result of these instability issues. im seeing people online say the 14600k in productivity so it might be worth a shot?
TabbyStar@reddit
Intel is on record saying the "f" series are not affected.
Intel "f" series forum reply
Large_Ad4172@reddit
i own an intel i7 14700f am i affected havent had any bsod so i dunno please !
tiniyt@reddit (OP)
if you had no issues so far you probably are fine, just make sure to update BIOS and use intel baseline and then wait for the mid August microcode update from intel that’ll fix the issues
No_Guarantee7841@reddit
Tbh if you can wait, intel will release another "gen" on cpus for this socket, supposedly with 10-12 p-cores only.
