To people who have lived in other countries, do you think the uk has a unique ‘crabs in a bucket’ mentality?

I moved here from America and have zero plans on leaving. So many things about the uk are preferable to America. However one thing I’ve noticed that’s very different is attitudes towards success.
The uk has a strange mix of rooting for the underdog, glamourising ‘hard’ work and admiring those who do without. All 3 of these things on their own are likely good or at least neutral qualities, but when you mix them together you get a large number of people who really don’t like to see other people succeed. I don’t think this is entirely unique to the uk. There’s people like this in America. But this specific type of hating does very much seem to be unique to the uk. In America people might not like your success because they’re jealous. In the uk it almost seems like people don’t like others success because they think they should be happy to do with less?
