How many teabags do you have in one standard cup?

Breakfast / Builders tea, standard mug. How many do you use? I have 3 teabags in my morning cup (PG Tip, the mug is mug-sized). If I have one at lunch or in the afternoon I tend to just have the one. For the 3-bagger I use 1 tsp Muscovado sugar, 2 tsp of erythritol (Erythritol is only about 70% as sweet as sugar). In a single-bag cup I'll just have half Muscavado, half normal sugar.

1 bag. But are you in a hard water area? I used to use PG Tips, moved back to my home town where water is some of the hardest in the UK and tea made with PG tips just tasted of nothing. Now I use Yorkshire teabags (or Twinings extra strong English Breakfast if it's on offer) to get a decent flavoured cup of tea. Not tried the hard water Yorkshire tea though, not sure if it's actually going to be better or if it's just a bit gimmicky.

If I go to Spoons, I have 2 tea bags in my mug as they only have Tetley. At home I have Yorkshire Gold, 1 teabag & mash gor 3 mins approx.

3! Boiling water, let it sit for 2 mins before adding anything, give it a really good stir and squeeze with the spoon. If you like a strong cuppa leave the bag in.

I find PG tips weak and bland.... Maybe that is the problem here! Have you tried other brands because you might find something that suits your taste better and also be a bit more cost effective than 3 bags for a single cup. Even a more expensive brand you might save by needing less.

I usually use a teapot old chap. Warm the pot first. Three teaspoons of loose leaf tea and cover it with a cosy for 5 minutes, I can usually get three or four mugs out of it. If I'm forced to sink to using bags, one is sufficient but it has to be regular black tea, half a teaspoon of white sugar and a splash of milk after the bag has been removed (post the requisite 5 minutes brewing time).

Grew up having one per cup, moved 30mins down the road and having one bag per cup here just makes piss water, tastes 'right' with two. If I go and visit family in the precious location I'll still have 1, 1 there tastes the same as 2 here. Weird.

Certain areas have different water sources and the utility providers treat water differently to compensate. Some areas have “hard” water (eg Hampshire, Bath) and some areas have “weak” water which needs to be pre-treated with tea to make it suitable for consumption.

I like my tea strong. I don't really use standard cups, but I put 3 teabags into my 750ml mugs and brew for 6 minutes.
