Dental holidays, yay or nay?

As a kid i never went to the dentist enough as my mum was scared and... what kid is going to volunteer themselves for a trip to the dentist.
As an adult, either a lack of finances, or a lack of dentists has limited my ability to make an appointment.
We are in a better position financially and I've lost one tooth too many. I am now considering dental implants, a full top set and a full bottom set.
Costs in the UK the last time i looked (a few years ago) were 20-30k for both sets. Way out of my price range. My wife had one single tooth that was bad and got an individual implant but i have too many in bad shape that i would ultimately end up doing them all at a higher cost in the future.
Has anyone gone abroad for implants before? Full sets preferably.
The british dentists try to warn you away from abroad, but we have the reputation for bad teeth so i can take that with a pinch of salt.
Does anyone have an idea of costs now? A quick google sent me.to sites where i had to input information and i dont want the sales pitch.
