I had a weird interaction on holiday, am I overthinking? Anyone have something similar happen?

Aye once. It was a cold and stormy night. The boat dropped me off and I had arrived at the lighthouse, with a single suitcase. The rest of my luggage was in transit and would arrive when the supply boat came at the end of the month. I opened the lighthouse door with my key. The lighthouse had been empty for the last 6 months and would need some work to be liveable again. I started the generator and then I heard a rap at the door. Frozen I tried to make sense of what was happening. Surely I was the only person on the Island? With trepidation I walked to the door, grabbing an iron from near the fireplace. I opened the door and my eyes did behold a French man in a Tricorne hat, whistling Les Marseilles. "Mon Dieu, stop the noise! Arrete maintenant!" I was so confused. I have never had anyone knock on my lighthouse door before!
