Gigabyte Aorus Waterforce X AIO LCD Screen randomly stops working
Posted by Mersch-K@reddit | buildapc | View on Reddit | 36 comments
Hi everyone,
Recently the LCD Screen on my Gigabyte Aorus Waterforce AIO works intermittently. Most of the time it is just a black screen but then it randomly turns on/ off again. I've tried re-installing RGB Fusion but no luck. Not sure what to do now.

Hello, I don't know if anyone else is using this water cooling, but I had the same problem - a black screen. I took my computer apart, then the application updated and it was just black. Sometimes, when starting the computer, an image would appear for a moment and nothing more. Then I read somewhere that I should replace the voltage input. I disconnected it from the board and connected it to a different voltage. IT WORKED!!!

I have the same problem, when I turn off the led lights of the coolers, the screen comes on again. It seems to be a power consumption problem.

This btw.... helped me 4years later. My being stupid searching fault in the Usb connector all the time... turns out... the Sata cable I was using Mobo>4Split couldn't carry enough power to power all the devices I had plugged in... only barely. Thats why it worked some time and some time don't. The fix was as easy as using a fresh sata cable from the PSU and only plugging the AIO in (As they are only rated for 54Watts at most and the AIO according to the web runs at around 20-30). Greetings \^\^Screen is working ever since without any problem

Your advice helped me. But I just decreased the brightness on the radiator fans and the screen came back to life!

Also fixed the problem Thanks alot

Son of a gun, this also fixed my issue. Firmware 1.8 then moved to 1.9, still random black screen. Adjusted brightness down to min and poof the LCD came back on.
Adjusted it a little above min and will see how it goes.
Crazy.

I have the same exact problem. Did you find any way to fix it?
ApprehensiveVisual32@reddit
I solved it by using the Molex from a power supply cable, which I don't use for anything else other than to power the cooling pump.

Hello! I am quite the noob. Can you tell me how to fix my problem. My cooler is Waterforce 360x and after I plugged in my HDD with the Sata connector on my gigabyte z690 motherboard the screen turned black. It seems to be a low voltage problem maybe. I don't know what to do now. My HDD is the only thing connected to the SATA ports. I have been in this rabbit hole for a year and I still can't fix the problem....

i Had the same problem i giive the SATA power connection a little polish with a bit of henry sandpaper not had the problem so far...

In my case it happened when i enabled the sync mode... don't know why but disabling sync mode for rgbfusion got me the screen back...
ProfessionalLong9039@reddit
reset sata conector disconect and reconect back (close pc first) thats all , works for me

Had the same problem. Looked at the SATA connection, moved it a bit and it came back on. I guess the SATA cable needed to be reseated. Hope it helps!

For those who are having this problem, leaving a micro sd inside the cooler does this random on/off lcd screen bug for me. I just removed the micro sd and power cycled (unplugging-replugging sata power or simply rebooting computer) and my lcd is working fine.
I am using gigabyte control center and I have a aorus mainboard, aorus gpu and waterforce 240 x. All working with rgb control and both lcd screens on the cpu cooler and gpu are working as well.
I am on the latest firmwares and bios' for both mainboard, watercooler and gpu with up to date win 11 as of this date.

Unfortunately this didn't work for me... do you have any other workaround?
Tiny_Quality_3665@reddit
Same problem here... I have a Waterforce II X 360, the LCD screen turn off and returns only I reboot the computer...
Have you found any solutions?
If not, I believe that the way is to create a post on the Gigabyte page and ask them to fix the problem.

Hi, did you take any action with this?
For me it started to turn on and off randomly. I haven't updated anything except Windows and NVIDIA drivers in a recent time. After the issues started occuring I tried updating the cooler firmware and Gigabyte Control Center but this didn't fix it. I've also tried to connect cooler to a different USB port on the mobo but that also didn't work. What's interesting is that if I uninstall GCC conpletely the frequency of this issue is higher as if the software helps to keep the screen alive.
I've had this issue in the past right after building this PC but it sort of resolved on it's own. Now it's back

Hello!
I changed the USB port on the motherboard and the sata power connector and the problem was completely solved.
Beforehand, it appeared to be some kind of power management on the motherboard's USB port, the problem started after a motherboard BIOS update.
If your motherboard has 3 internal USB connectors, try changing them again, I believe this will solve your problem.
MoistPause@reddit
I have changed the USB port to the previous one (the one on which the issue started) and so far it seems to be working. We'll see. Thanks!

I can't really help you. I'm not even sure how to fix mine. Sometimes it works and sometimes it turns off. What helps then is completely unplugging every cable from my PSU and plugging it in again (Of course when PC is turned off lol).

hello im too lazy to fix this lcd screen problem but if the fans are spinning and the pump is all good. then its fine right? i also have the same problem

Sadly no.

So i think i got this fixed all i did was remove all the cooler software and simply just installed AORUS ENGINE and not installed GIGABYTE Control Center and my LCD stays on now but now i cant change the color of my fans maybe i am just doing it wrong.
9391n@reddit
The same thing happens to me, I have read that some options that Windows Antivirus contains affect it, then the software works and after a few days it stops working, freezing the display at 30 degrees, then you have to disconnect the cooler from the motherboard, uninstall the control panel and do everything again so that it works for a few days, it is unfortunate that this happens with a cooler of more than 200 usd
