Ive had various disagreements with Bosniaks Albanians Croats and Bulgarians of this sub but I have never referred to them as “annoying little nation” or anything similar to generalize them.

As other Macedonians mentioned, we're just fed up.
There were a few posts on our sub about how we should avoid this one and its sad to say but most of us agreed.
Also the moderator(s) that is supposedly Macedonian doesn't represent us properly.

I have seen Serbs Bulgarians and Macedonians claim they have history related to Solun but not that it is anybody elses than Greek.
On the other hand a lot of Greeks get offended at even the slightest mention of Slavic history or heritage in Greece. 🤷🏻

What i mean is, you (Macedonians) get downvoted because you mostly post controversial and not because you are from North Macedonia. The majority of comments i see from NMK users are controversial as fck. Macedonians who post with common sense don't get downvoted.

Oh Macedonias are represented, there are quite a lot of Greeks on the sub. Now if you talk about Slavic people of ex Tito continent then idk and it doesn’t really matter anyway.
Idk. They r a Slavic nation with more Greek added as they go south. They also have latin stuff.
U also had Slavs to ur teeth in the middle ages.
If u ask me, they r Slavs that mixed with Greeks a lot.
They have a complex history that was mismanaged a lot and now they r open to criticizm by a**holes like urself.
They were held by four empires: Byzant, Bulgaria, Serbia and Ottomans which makes them both culturally rich and complex
Furhermore, due to the strong h8 for each other that often comes up im guessing u have a complex historu with Slavs of Greece proper in the past. So a lot of Greeks want to make sure to prove Greece has NOTHING to do with them.
So all in all they r stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Ive been u know - to Ohrid. Ur nation has history there and im no talking antiquity. U also have it in Serbia but thats another matter.
They get called Bulgarians by half of the sub and only get mentioned when their "beef" with Albanians or other nationalities can be instrumentalized.
So it is understandable that some decide to avoid this sub or at least not be that active in it.
My attitude is based,if you cant understand, thats yours and his problem.

This: "Embrace our neighbours"! Music to my ears. I mean I get the politicians and their use of nationalism as a bargaining chip but the nations should have problems because of them. I love my summer holiday spent in Greece as much as I love it in Bulgaria, Serbia, and Montenegro...As a kid, we used to spend every summer in Prżno near Kotor. I still have fond memories from that time. Then also Dubrovnik was a surreal experience. Now with my family, we visit almost every summer Greece, and two years ago Albania. When my kid was little we spent 4 years in a row a summer vacation in Albena. Great memories. I have relatives in Belgrade and I love their culture as well. I mean WTF?! There is no reason to hate each other! ✌️ ☮️ 🕊
And I'm sure you're welcome in all of those places, despite what a small minority who drinks the nationalist Kool Aid might have to say. Unfortunately, this neighborhood requires a thick skin.

In my early days here I remember a lot of them being here (in proportion to their population), but the number of users lowered over time especially after the whole shitshow between them and Bulgarians

Agreed, one of the reasons I got into this sub was that I could have level-headed discussions with Macedonians without drama and bullshit, and I miss some of those users. It's easy to stop bothering if every thread about North Macedonia gets dominated by Greeks and Bulgarians.
Seems like Macedonians just wanted to keep their flag and name after they got independence. Not much of a level headed discussion when Macedonia today conceded to Greeces demands and will still not join the EU in this decade or the next if we're honest. So i cant blame them for saying Fxck everyone when majority of the population hadn't even supported any of the events that took place.
The moderation has turned to shit. So many comments about "North Macedonians" and "North Macedonian" and "Macedonians were invented in 1945 by Yuri from Red Alert 2 to steal our land" that are just ignored. You'd have to be masochistic to post.

All the macos i met have been mixed bag. The ones i met which grew up in macedonia were pretty cool, but the ones i met which grew up in “west” were delusional freaks
Most seem to still have their mindset stuck in the 70s and stick to their insular communities, they raise their children the same way and the cycle continues.
I mean its not just macos its other ones as well, all big “ustaše i četnici” and all of their grandparents had to run away from “komunist” prosecutions, but they can’t even speak the language and their parents lived in “vukojebina” and only migrated because of that
I assume you are referring to people from North Macedonia. There are not that many of them to begin with, and half of them identify as Albanian and probably a good percentage of the rest as Bulgarian. The rest have emigrated to west. Europe.
When we comment its either - you're North Macedonian, you're not Macedonian, you're Bulgarian, you don't exist and so on and so forth.
I've lurked ever since that shitty Greek article got posted up about three weeks ago about how the government removed North from the website and Greeks lost their minds but if you went to the actual website (which the article purposefully left out) you saw that it was a shitty article based on a shitty lie.
