Bed shop. Which is what it was before it became Wilko. The towns facebook page was up in arms when that was announced because "who needs a bed shop with the cost of living crisis?". Presumably people that need a new bed or mattress...

Just go in, be brave! I think they are often retail & wholesale. Generally wholesale only would be on an industrial estate.

There were plans for Poundland to move in, signs went up then they discovered Reinforced Airstrd Autoclaved Concrete (RAAC) in the building. Nothing happened since the start of the year

Ours was briefly a Poundland, now empty again. There’s a notice up saying Lidl have taken possession, and there’s a small one opposite, so hopefully theyre moving to the much bigger space.

Seems like most of them were replaced with poundlands judging by this thread, ours was a poundland for like 3 months and they closed down last week so it is now once more an empty shell.

Poundland took over the remainder of the lease. The ones that have since closed again have reached the end of that lease and the renewal is more expensive than is justified for that location.

One is a B&M, one is a Poundstretcher, and I think the third is going to be either a B&M or a Range. Two nearby towns had theirs become Poundland.

One closed and was demolished before they went under. The other one reopened in April under the range leadership but with wilko branding and the store is now laid out like the range. It’s also got an Iceland inside bringing the total icelands in my town to 4.

We're getting a Starbucks. And a Tesco and something else Which is odd because we had a Starbucks till about 10 years ago, when they closed due to lack of customers. And there are a LOT more coffee shops in town now. I give it 3 years tops.
