Around 10 military helicopters just flew over Lancashire/West Yorkshire, anyone know why?

There were several apaches, maybe 8, at least 2 pumas and maybe 6 chinooks. I was in Burnley when they flew past, it was a fantastic sight and noise!

We saw them over Burnley about 1300. Counted 2 leading helicopters - 4 Chinooks - then a pause of about 60 seconds , followed by 6 Apache helicopters.......all in formation. Never seen anything like it....not even at airshows. Usually I'd have been excited to see our guys flying......given the current state of world affairs it was a little scary. Wherever they were going, they looked like they meant business.

Not that I’m aware of. I’ve never seen anything like that before and I’ve lived here 12 years. Most private owned helicopter and planes are on the FlightRadar24 app though too.

It's like the 5 Apache AH64Ds and a couple of C&C Pumas I saw at Humberside airport - Kirmington one time (Sept 2019) I was at the airport doing some computer work in an office attached to one of the hangers and we got a knock at the door. It was a large American airman asking to use our toilet! It was easier than trying to get into the terminal building. Turns out he was from one of the quiet States (Wyoming or Kansas, I cannot remember now), and they were going "North to simulate an attack a airfield near the A1". This was almost as good as the sound of the Spitfire that is there in private ownership, it had just landed when I turned up, after some low passes.
