Largest capacity I could find from a name brand was a 5 TB HDD. Does anyone know if there is a largest one in the market or in the near future? Thanks

Hey u/Guy_PCS , I'm in the same boat as you. Struggling to find anything with a large-ish capacity that is USB-powered. Did you come across anything bigger than 5TB?

thatsuaveswede@reddit
Really? Would you have the model number for it?

Sorry. I think it was this one. I didn't see a power source, just the usb 3.0
thatsuaveswede@reddit
Thanks buddy but that one also relies on an 18W power plug.

OK, I got it, I have to build my own, nothing in the retail channel? Do all 2.5 inch HDD (Not SSD) run on USB cable power? Thanks
templefugateontime@reddit
You probably know this by now as this post has been around a while. WD has an 8TB portable gaming drive ready to plug and play. It's a 3.2 USB HDD not SSD.

Hey, thanks for the comment, better late then never, any information is better then none. I'm looking for the largest mechanical drive that does not need a power adapter and on runs on USB power.
