Xiaomi BE7000 Review, speed and latency tests

I tested the Xiaomi BE7000 if anyone is interested in seeing my results: Xiaomi BE7000 WiFi 7 Router Test, Latency and Software – MBReviews.
I also did a YouTube video if written format is not on your taste and prefer to hear my annoying voice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZUrvHjsg0U .

Hello,
I bought one of this router to replace my AX3600, the main reason is the 2,5Gb port that I couldn’t find in any other commercial router. Anyways the setup was easy, but I notice that I have a lot of youtube and generic video random stops that I didn’t have in old one, I hope they release an Internacional version of this device but till now not even a firmware update of the Chinese version.
Any questions feel free.
Regards

Any updates, how much do you get on local speed and can you manually select 160mhz fixed
WasabiFar6253@reddit
Withe the current firmware you can not select 160MHz fixed. You can only set 80, 40 or 20 fixed.
Personally I have dropped the merging of bands and run 5GHz separately for consistent performance. 2.4GHz I use for simple devices that only have that band or devices with low bandwidt use.
I can only measure max 700Mbit from WAN to WIFI, but I get that speed even at the floor above.

I have the BE7000 and previously I had the AX6000. I have no problem with Youtube or other videos.
There will not be an international firmware for the BE7000 or AX6000, but for me they work just fine.
I advice you to reset the router to factory settings after you have a backup of your current settings.
The main problem I can see it the upload speed from my phone is limited to roughly 250Mbit. On download I get 700Mbit before the speed cap of my internet limits to just over 500Mbit. Actually I had faster upload with the AX6000 for some reason.
And another problem is the USB port on the router. If you activate USB 3, the 2.4GHz wifi does not work properly anymore. But USB 2 is ok.
Overall it has been a rock solid router for my use. Just some quirks I do not notice in daily use.

Any updates on 6 ghz band?
__some__guy@reddit
Pretty important detail.
I also get higher speeds from my €90 TUF-AX3000 router (usually 2,400 Mbit full sync at ~5 feet).
Shouldn't be sold as WiFi 7.
Ok_Fish285@reddit
is there a reason why it's missing the 6ghz band? that's literally the only reason anyone should be buying a new router in 2024
Strazdas1@reddit
Well, you could be like my friend, who bought a 5 Ghz one because he needed a router that could handle 1gbps ethernet ports since before that his 100 mbps ethernet ports were sufficient. Not everyone uses/upgrades to latest tech.
Ragingsheep@reddit
China hasn't approved use of the 6ghz spectrum for wifi usage. For reference, other countries may have only approved parts of the 6ghz spectrum for wifi.
__some__guy@reddit
6 GHz isn't allowed for private use there, because the chinese government wants to use it for... something.
WorldClassPianist@reddit
Networking device from china? No thanks.
Ragingsheep@reddit
I think I saw people saying that while there's support for the 6ghz spectrum in the chipset, Xiaomi hasn't included any amplifiers that work in the 6ghz range which precludes the possibility of future updates enabling the new spectrum.
antifocus@reddit
It doesn't, here's another teardown. https://www.acwifi.net/24893.html

That is a shame. Then again, I wasn't really expecting Xiaomi to make significant upgrades to its routers over the following years. It's more profitable to get a new one on the shelves.

I love it when someone goes all-in on tech reviews. You're singing my song, my friend! You took one for the team, dove into the Xiaomi BE7000, and handed us a wealth of insights. Seriously, you're doing the Lord's work. The written format? Comprehensive and thorough. And the YouTube video? Engaging, even if you modestly called your voice annoying—don't sell yourself short! Anyone here who's serious about upgrading their network game ought to take a long, hard look at your review. Wondering if anyone else here has put this beast to the test and drew the same conclusions? Let's get some tech gossip flowing!

Thank you very much. This type of comment is what helps me continue test and review networking gear.
