Heard of Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX?

I'm considering these two motherboards for my Ryzen 9 7900X build.:
1) Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650-GAMING-X-AX-rev-15#kf
2) Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650-EAGLE-AX#kf
I can't make sense of some of the specs.
Eagle AX has 12+2+2 while the Gaming X AX has 8+2+1.
Would either of these be able to handle a 7900X reliably?
Additionally, it seems Eagle AX has more bells and whistles (m.2 slots and PCIe slots).
Which one should I go for, considering both are available at the same price.
Thanks.

Is a shity board, spent on a ver: 1.0 board, after assembly spend, 7 hours to install a sinking Windows and could not. Bios reseted at every reboot, could not update bios via BIOS, had to take all parts out and do it via Qflash, and it kept on failing. Going to RMA that piece of shit board. I just came from it, my 20+years of computers neve meet such a crappy board from Gigabyte..........NEVER, it was a B650 Eagle AX.
Low_Lawyer_4823@reddit
well, he was right, i got the board, it died after a month
5160_carbon_steel@reddit
Hey, which board are you talking about? The comment you replied to got deleted.

gigabyte b650 eagle ax, i cant remember which log in was for that account
spontaneous_lee@reddit
Just built my friend a computer with the eagle board. Has no issues whatsoever! Wifi wasn’t showing up upon first boot but found the driver on gigabytes website and that fixed it immediately. Everything’s running smoothly for him with a 7600x.
P0rvin@reddit
Hi, one quick question. Did you needed to update BIOS for 7600x???
EncoreSheep@reddit
I built mine around a month ago, been running fine without any updates
DefinitionFeisty2267@reddit
hey, how did you find the wifi driver for this mobo? I've looked at the website and cant for the life of me find it
spontaneous_lee@reddit
Hey! Here is the link https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650-EAGLE-AX/support#support-dl
Its under -WLAN+Bluetooth, first you’ll see the bluetooth driver then you’ll see the wifi driver.
Hope this helps!

Hi, I was thinking about buying this B650 Eagle AX as well , do you think anything is fine with this build:
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600 GPU: RTX 4070 Super 12gb Gigabyte Windforce OC RAM: TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB 2x16GB 6000 CL30 M2: Gigabyte Aorus Gen4 7300 2TB PSU: MSI Mag A850GL 850w
spontaneous_lee@reddit
I would suggest the 7600x as its less than 10 dollars more than the 7600 on newegg and has a higher clock speed. We paired the 7600x with a Noctua NH-D15s and its been kicking ass.
Id also suggest buying a pcie 5 M.2 instead of 4 because the Eagle AX can support it. Also buying an M.2 with a heatsink is unnecessary because the Eagle AX already comes with a heatsink. I got my friend a samsung 990 evo 2tb which has been working great but I'm not not like a fanboy of samsung that's just what we went with.
The ram you've listed looks great, this is what I got my friend just for reference: https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb/p/N82E16820374419
The power supply you've listed also looks legit but again just for reference this is what I got my friend: https://www.newegg.com/thermaltake-toughpower-gf1-2024-series-ps-tpd-0850fnfagu-p-850-w/p/N82E16817153460
As for the GPU I think any 4070 super is gonna go crazy lol
I'm not an expert but I love building PCs, my homie wanted to keep everything but the GPU around 900 usd so that's what we did and everything has been doing great!! I will say, check out optimum techs video on optimizing the 7600x in the bios because beforehand the temps were a bit gnarly but now in game after whatever undervolt curve he was doing its chillin at like mid 50 to low 60c in game, very nice!!! Here is the vid I used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaOYYHNGlLs&ab_channel=optimum
Good luck on the build though!!
KMS-EvilGoddess@reddit
I'm considering B650 Eagle AX but since its fairly new and has almost 0 reviews about it wanted to know what should I expect. Also wdym gpu is gonna go crazy lmao like crazy good? :D And what do you mean by optimizing the 7600x? Like bios updates? (Was it like flashing bios?) Also since theres like a good deal 5 7600 here and it draws less power than the 5 7600x (which cost few more for like 5%-10% more performance) I think ill go for the 5 7600 this time thanks for the recommendation tho :D

Alr I so I’m using this mobo and updated bios to the latest possible version, everything seemingly works fine, besides shutting down issues, I’m gonna downgrade to bios f2 and we’ll see how that goes.
onlineplastic@reddit
Any updates? Just got this mobo and wanted to know if there’s a huge gap between the newer version to the f2
SlinkyJungle@reddit
I own this Board since a few weeks, the F1 Version of BIOS always ruined my Windows 11 After Windows Update Windows Wanst able to Boot anymore.
Since i updated it via USB Stick to the newest Version F34(or so?) everything Runs Perfect!
Also you have to Download the WLAN driver via MSI Software, out of the Box WLAN wont work only LAN
Great board of you do this two steps!!
onlineplastic@reddit
I see, the latest is f31 from I can see on their website, also thanks for the information about the MSI driver, will try it soon and update.
SlinkyJungle@reddit
Sry i mean Gigabyte Software Not MSI… 😂
onlineplastic@reddit
Ohh 😭 thought for a sec if it’s kind of a trick cause I’ve seen some people having problems with the driver of their website.
Bojahdok@reddit
Hi !
I'm planning to buy a 7800x3D with this mobo, have you had any issues with the latest bios ? I'm hesitating between going for f2 or f31
onlineplastic@reddit
f31 for sure, works completely fine with my 7700x without issues.
Bojahdok@reddit
Thanks for the feedback, I'll try updating soon
Similar-Friend2161@reddit
i plan on putting a 7800x3D in, what update did you end up using?
Bojahdok@reddit
I just ended up using F2, it was already installed on the board and worked perfectly, didn't see any point upgrading to f31
Smart-Umpire-2046@reddit
I just picked this board up and should be starting my build this weekend with any luck. I'll try and remember to come update you on how it goes. Hopefully the other poster here warning of BIOS issues was a fluke and I have a smooth setup.
Cultural-Golf-5233@reddit
how is it going on still fine? i also downgraded to f2
Smart-Umpire-2046@reddit
No complaints yet! Everything is in running order.
EmotionalEnthusiasm4@reddit
Bit of a necro, I'm about to upgrade to AM5 and was considering this mobo, but I've read a lot about the bios issues.
Is it a good buy or should I go a bt higher for more stability? It seems too cheap for what it offers (at least compared to the rest...)
Smart-Umpire-2046@reddit
Still no issues on my end!
SomeYucks@reddit
Still as good?
Smart-Umpire-2046@reddit
Still trucking along!

Hello,
I could use your help with my new build for the zb650 Eagle AX v2 I have installed everything, but when i turn it on the motherboard it s stuck on DRAM (red led)
I have tried starting it with 1 Ram , chaning the slots, didn t work. Also i checked the cpu, no pins were bent whatsoever.
I tried also a bio flashback, but no luck(with the stick inserted after pressing the qflash button, it turns on for 2 seconds and the it turns off.
Motherboard : B650 Eagle AX Ram : Lexar ARES RGB 32gb, CL 30, 6000 Mhz GPU : gigabyte Nvidia RTX 4070 TI Super windforce CPU : Ryzen 7 7800x3d
I don t get it, what else can i do? This is a new build, and everything was made carefully.
Can i not do the latest version of BIOS from gigabyte for this motherboard? I don t even know what version it is...
I was guessing that it can be also from the RAM manufacturer... couldn t find this MB on their compatibility list(even though indon t think they tested all the existent MB)
Hope i can get an advice. from here
reimufumolover@reddit
Have u fixed it? I have LITERALLY the same issue
AhmedDare22@reddit
Any updates on this? Hopefully you found the issue and can educate us about it

I used this board for my last PC. It seems a well made board hardwire wise, but lacks a stable firmware. I have to thank the person who suggested to stick with f2 firmware for now. I have anyway a strange issue with the wifi which is onboard. It looks like the bios does not perform a reset in a proper way for this card (RTL 8852something), because when you reboot (I use Linux not windows), the wifi card is not listed in the device list (lspci doesn't list it). If I want to bring it back, I have to power drain the board (powering on with the power supply off...). This is very annoying, hope they fix this soon. Btw: to my experience, f2 bios is the only one that works. Please gigabyte, fix this.. Does it happen just to me? I don't think so, because I RMAed the first board thinking it was faulty but the second one has the same issue.
Kk0nRaD@reddit
issue fixed replacing my ssd which was a 1tb samsung 980 inserted in the pxie 5.x slot (the one with the heatsink).
Cultural-Golf-5233@reddit
how is it going on still fine? i also downgraded to f2
Svenvdv26@reddit
Thanks to the person who suggested to use F2 bios, I recently build my new pc with this motherboard and on F2 I have encountered 0 issues with it and everything is running very smooth :)
JHOSEMIR@reddit
are you still without problems? I'm thinking of building a PC with that motherboard.
Cultural-Golf-5233@reddit
how is it going on still fine? i also downgraded to f2
Svenvdv26@reddit
yes, still no issues
Sam_Boyce@reddit
Hey,
I have just got my PC which built and is running this mobo. Would you be able to help with what steps to use when upgrading the bios to version F2?
Thank you
Winter_Sentence_953@reddit
Should be the same process as in this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYfngLTpuqU
DeadxDreamer@reddit
Great board. Ran my 7800X3D, just make sure to Q-Flash Plus the BIOS to F2 and Above first. The on board F1 BIOS kinda 👎👎
Cultural-Golf-5233@reddit
how is it going on still fine? i also downgraded to f2
DeadxDreamer@reddit
yeah. Even tried the latest Bios updates just for fun, but in the end I went back to F2 xD Some bios has shutdown problems where it won't even shutdown properly. 💀 Tho I had better performance on F5a when benchmarking, but it also had that shutdown problems and it's a hassle.
Last_Refrigerator244@reddit
How do i know when bios flash update has ended
LegalHelicopter6650@reddit
Hi what do you mean by a flash the bios to f2 I don’t understand as I am new to pc building an building my first pc with this board can you please explain 🙏
DeadxDreamer@reddit
I just followed this video: https://youtu.be/BYfngLTpuqU?si=1Zh4M4xWYjigmMJJ
LegalHelicopter6650@reddit
Hi can you explain what you mean by q flash the bios to f2 as I don’t understand as I am a new pc builder thank you
suprsecretaccount@reddit
Im a bit removed from the latest stuff, but the AMD motherboards need to be flashed to match the processor. Im pretty sure this board is the same, the site you get it probably has a warning about it. there are plenty of bideos showing hwo to do it.
if this is for gaming the 7800x3d better than the 7900x and 7900x3d, but they may get more pure work done.

Bruh I will literally suck your d*** if I ever see you. I have spend to 2 full days over 8 hours each day reinstalling windows, drivers, took every part of the computer apart, going crazy because the computer keep restarting after each shut down. So from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!! for that information. So today you are the meme guy "No all heroes wear capes". Thank you again.
omairthememe@reddit
What the hell did he say
budreesha@reddit
he literally says stay on F2 cuz its the most stable bios
