Todd represents the kind of person Beavis and Butthead wish to be. He's a tough hoodlum. He does whatever he wants, and treats everyone else like they're beneath him. He's also quite the ladies man too.

The episode i enjoyed the most was Leave it to beavis. Black n white. Todd beats up beavis he tells him to steal a pack of smokes. When todd gets to their home he's making cookies with Stewart mom lol. Butthead laughs an smokes a pipe. I sen this episode a few years ago an I was high as hell laughing hard 😆 🤣

Teenagers didn’t used to be so altruistic and well-informed and sensible. They were notably angry and felt shit upon by their families, society and “the man.”

So the fact that Todd is mean isn’t unusual to them, it’s actually aspirational because they too want to feel free, have a cool car and “get chicks.” He was an outlier of all the boring, critical, slow-minded adults they know and made adulthood something they could potentially look forward to. It’s very metal.

they don't have fathers, so todd being slightly older than the rest of the two is a makeshift replacement.

it also has to do with a lot of the prevailing attitudes of the 90s. people in todd's position were seen as idols to look up to by youth who were rightfully disenfranchised by a violent system who told them they were outcasts.

the main takeaway is that beavis and butthead as social pariahs were driven to seek todd as a role model due to social stigma and out of a misguided attempt to carve out their own paths in life, but the beauty of beavis and butthead is that it encourages it's viewers to develop strong personal relationships with the characters and asks you to come to your own conclusions.

tl,dr; everyone in beavis and butthead's lives put them in this position. the violent society is at fault.
