M.2 Showing up in bios but not Windows

So, I've had an SK Hynix Gold P31 M.2 for a while, and it has never been able to show up, but I thought it was because I had a motherboard that was only Gen2. I recently purchased a B550-A Pro Motherboard with a Gen 4 and a Gen 3 slot. Still nothing but BIOS. I thought it was just the SSD itself, so I purchased a WD Black SN 770 1tb M.2 and put it in the Gen4 slot and still nothing. Is there something that I'm doing wrong here? I already Secure Erased both drives because they only show up in BIOS. My BIOS is MSI Click BIOS 5.

Find "Disk Management" in your windows search bar, open it, look for a drive with "unallocated space", right click it, select "Create New Partition", follow the steps ahead (for normal use you want NTFS as file system and use the maximum amount of bytes available, and make sure to allocate a drive letter to it.
Edit: just saw the comment of the drive not showing up in disk management, maybe try reseating the drive in a different m.2 slot

This was the one for me Thank you!!! its been bugging me for two days on how to find this drive! was it a lane issue? was it cause its a PCIE 4 in a pcie 3 slot? no M.2 is backwards compatible. found it in BIOS so that's good but where is it in windows? ps "Disk Management" was inside "Computer management" disk management would not show up in search.

2 years later and still helping! Thanks bro!
For anyone reading this, I added a 2nd ssd m.2 and it was showing up in bios and even in device manager but not on "my computer"... Went to disk management and saw the "unallocated" drive on the bottom, I right clicked it and followed the prompt and its working now! I got windows 11 pro...
Thanks man!

The SSD that I was trying to fix was actually the one that was used to boot windows, then realized that the m2_1 storage that I thought that was the one used to boot windows, was the one that was broken all along. This is now fixed thanks to your help! I am truly grateful 🙏🏻

So, I stumbled onto this while troubleshooting why my new M.2 wasn't picking up in windows but displayed everywhere else (Bios, Device Manager etc.)
This may be obvious to some but the drive was just unallocated.
Go to Disk Manager > Scroll down > The device highlighed in black is unallocated.
Right click > Create New Simple Volume > Boom, shows up in windows.

Didnt even see the damn scroll bar. Why wouldnt they show it in the list at the top? Thank you so much!!

It might be your MB’s M.2 slot and PCIE slot shares the same lane.
lichtspieler@reddit
PCI_E3: PCIe 3.0 x4 (PCH) is shared with the M.2_2.
GalaxyHOMIE@reddit (OP)
I have nothing plugged into the PCIe E3 slot but I do have the SK hynix in the m.2_2 slot

did you figure this out?

THIS is the thread I've been looking for. Just built my second build ever, first time with multiple SSDs. Thank you.

My drive has a bunch of info on it and id rather not delete it. I upgraded my CPU from Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5800x and after updating my bios my M.2 is only showing up in the bios. Is there a way to make it appear again without reformatting the drive?

A solution that worked for was to turn off intel rapid storage technology. I was having issues with a fresh install of windows and all I had to do was switch this off.
