Redragon, good or bad?

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having/had a great day.
I was curious and wanted to get more knowledge on the Redragon brand, as in everything they make from keyboards to headsets to monitors etc... Are they a good brand?
Their prices are always on the lower end but the gear they make is good, which is why it all sounds a bit sus to me. I personally have a Redragon mitra k551 that's still going strong (had it for more than a year now), I absolutely love this keyboard, it also helps that I got it for cheap.
I was going to get a pair of headphones but after thinking about it for a while decided that it could be risky since some people told me that the materials they use are cheap which would cause the hardware to deteriorate/break after a short time.
What I'm asking from you guys is to share your thoughts/opinions on the Redragon brand. Do you recommend their hardware?
Thank you guys in advance!
INFOSLAVER@reddit
Been using their keyboard and mouse for literally 7ish years. It's never had any issues. I replaced it two years ago with another of the same exact model just because it had gotten dirty, but it had no issues.
The only downside is that the paint on the keys start to vanish from use after a few years. Doesn't happen quickly, but it does happen.
AnomymousL@reddit
I wouldn't trust a company that puts AI slop onto their keyboards, mice, etc.
Sweaty-Key-6684@reddit
I am kinda late to the party but this may be of use to someone.
There is a big gap between their budget and premium lines. The cheap products tend to feel plasticky and don’t always last, but the more expensive gear my keyboard (K567) is surprisingly high quality, it is all solid metal and has survived six years of daily abuse without a single issue. If you’re buying from them, it’s worth spending a bit extra for the better build quality.
Some friends of mine also have their cheaper products and mostly dont have problems, but when they do, it is always a random QC issue on a cheap keyboard or mouse.
9okm@reddit
I've only used their keyboards. Pretty good for the price.
JohnnyAndTheVoid@reddit
you know except for the part where most of the keys are half-dead out of the box
WrongSaladBitch@reddit
Just got my second one (first just wasn’t quite what I wanted) and both times everything worked perfect?
RelationshipOk7766@reddit
Seems like a lot of people tend to think chinese = always bad. I have 10 redragon keyboards now, and I am a bit biased towards redragon but I've never had a problem with the keys, just wish they had more options for switches.
Endless_Candy@reddit
What do you mean by the keys suck sorry
SidelineYelling@reddit
Which is weird because regardless of brand they're almost all actually made in China, so it's not like the Chinese don't know how to make decent stuff.
Unusual-Worth5183@reddit
yeah china’s cool
RelationshipOk7766@reddit
Pretty much lol, it's more about what materials are being used. If the company cheaps out, you get a product that breaks in 3 months. If they don't, it'll last you for years.
Subject_Bluebird8406@reddit
I got one because it was under $100. I game on controller so I didn't wanna spend a ton. I just wanted something that was backlit and was mechanical. My Red dragon came with dead keys the R key was the worst lol.
IHateSpamCalls@reddit
That is true. Your smartphone is probably made there. The only concern with cheaper brands is that there is less quality control
makelovenotposters@reddit
Or the part where the mouse starts constantly disconnecting the same year you got it. Fool me once. Shame on me (but it could have been a fluke). Fool me twice? For fuck's sakes just don't buy Redragon ever again.
100_Gribble_Bill@reddit
I've had three keyboards from them over about 5 years and have yet to come across a single dead key.
Conscious-Ebb-2837@reddit
Which keyboard do you have
HeyItsSplash@reddit
Bought kala in like 2017, played 24/7 for 7 years and its still as sharp as ever

I got a Redragon mechanical keyboard recently. I really like it, but my main complain is that the Fn key is on the right and not on the left, which is really annoying. But otherwise, no complains
Zestyclose_Blood_937@reddit
I have the red dragon running umbutu and and con not get anything to work
Lonely_Cause4405@reddit
Complete trash - driver support and software are atrocious - I didn't realize how bad it was until I got a new mouse to replace the one I had and it was alike a night and day difference. I'll never buy anything from them again and neither should anyone else. Do yourself a favor and buy something from an established brand that's been around a while. You'll save money by not having to buy a new peripheral a short time later.
Offical_SundarPichai@reddit
Thank you!! I thought I was the only one that thought the software is stuck in 1999.
The firmware update process is an absolute joke!
I tried connecting and using a k628 via USB and downloaded the software and the damn thing would sit there for 5 minutes then update... Then sit there for 5 minutes and update.. and then sit and then update.. after the like the fifth time I literally threw my keyboard into the ground. They will be receiving this as a return. Fuck this. Absolutely unnecessary garbage software.
HearthstoneConTester@reddit
"I got so impatient while updating the drivers I smashed the keyboard into the ground, and now I've collected the pieces and plan to return it, fuck them"
You sound like a madman. I hope you are in a better place.
MagicPepto@reddit
Yeah? And what do you use from an established brand? Your comment can be found for every established brand out there. Logitech, razer, Corsair, steel series, you name it. Someone out there thinks it’s trash. Especially in terms of price to reliability ratio.
Lonely_Cause4405@reddit
I'm not gonna sit here and argue big companies don't make bad products, that obviously isn't true. However, if you do get a bad product from them at least the company exists and has offices in most parts of the world where they sell products to try and get a warranty claim when it fails or has issues. Good luck getting your warranty honored by some off-brand Chinese company that stops existing a year after you buy your device. I speak from experience. Sometimes going cheap makes sense, but that has never been my experience with computer hardware.
The_Core_X-ponent@reddit
Umm that's not the discussion here tho. Red dragon isn't a fly by night company that will be gone in 6 months. They have been pretty prominent over the last few years and getting bigger it seems.
Lonely_Cause4405@reddit
Tell that to crappy mouse I bought from them that had issues from day one and no clue where to even get the proper drivers for it. Soon as I got a razor mouse all my issues went away.
Confident-Buy-9381@reddit
y aqui tenemos al fanboy de razer hablando maravillas de uno de los peores softwares all in one (teclado, raton, auriculares, etc) de todo el mercado con constantes fallos desconexiones y problemas de conflicos con otros drivers..
BilboSwagginsHH@reddit
ahhhh so because you couldnt figure out how to update it its trash got it
Lonely_Cause4405@reddit
Because you lack reading comprehension you made a snide comment, got it.

Kmushina1994@reddit
xseif_gamer@reddit
I've seen people get issues from established brands like Asus, and Lenovo, and I've bought off brand keyboards that make redragon look like a top brand and said keyboards worked for years. Brands are a lie.
AnalystSuccessful157@reddit
How old does a company have to be for you to consider it established and been around for a while ?. red dragon have been making keyboards for over 12 years, which is pretty established and been around for a long time in my book
Stunning-Deal-7334@reddit
Good products, shitty customer service.
EssaManzoor@reddit
Be ware they're mouses SUCK so be care full yes everything else is good i have a red dreagon M601
after 2 years the mouse got the double click sickness
the key board i bought still works fine so Don't by their Mouses
-RheaRhe-@reddit
So I actually have a mouse and keyboard I’d been using from them for I think 8 years? I honestly have zero complaints considering the price was like $30 and had zero problems with the keys! I’m actually kind of mad since I lost them in a house fire and now can’t seem to find that specific model anymore…
vego_stars@reddit
I've had a redragon headset (Redragon Lamia 2 H320 to be exact) for over 3 years now, great quality and sound, never had any problems with it, even came with a free headset stand lol
Excellent-Fig-4593@reddit
Sin duda lo mejor en audífonos..
Faffout97@reddit
Webcam had really, really good quality but stopped working after just a few months. Really disappointed me
Headphones sound great (both audio and microphone) and are still kicking after a few years. I plan to get the same pair again once these fall apart
Impostor8@reddit
Redragon is very good, low price and good quality, i have a 60% keyboard and a mouse from them, the mouse is wireless and was only 30-40 euros
Clint4077@reddit
I've had keyboards and mouses by them forever. Best bang for your buck.
Holiday_Web3193@reddit
I've had a mmo mouse with 12 buttons on the side that I can push with my thumb. The mouse itself still works and fits good in my hand. I'm now looking for a one handed keyboard to use with a gaming laptop and they have a model I'm considering
idonnowhatmynameis29@reddit
I have been Reddragon kumara k552 for coding and typing for a month now. At the same time, I also bought the TVS Gold mechanical keyboard, so I think I can provide a fair comparison. The overall build quality of this keyboard is decent, tho not as good as TVS keyboard; it feels like a product with a minimalistic design, unlike the TVS Gold mechanical keyboard which is quite huge and bulky in comparison(also considering the fact it's a 100% keyboard and redraggon is 65%).
However, the Reddragon keys are extremely sensitive, and you might accidentally press the wrong key even with a light touch, unlike the TVS keyboard where you have better control over typing. This keyboard lacks the satisfying click that most mechanical keyboards have — the clicks on the TVS Gold are the best, with a much more satisfying sound and feel than the Redragon. The spacebar on the Redragon is the worst part; it sounds and feels unpleasant.
If you’re looking for a keyboard for typing and coding, I feel the TVS Gold is the better choice.

Mala gente...
TheEliteMarshall@reddit
Got a Redragon monitor, it’s great
danny13247@reddit
There headsets are good not great but good you get about 75% of the performance of big brands for 50% the price sometimes less so for budget minded people redragon is way to go because they're a more known stable brand not like some of these other Chinese brands where you hear of them one day and the next day they're gone or called something else
Slizced@reddit
I know this is old but I’ve had my Red dragon k530 since I got my pc like 4 years ago and it’s till working great
wix22@reddit
I am waiting for them (mouse and kb) to die so I can replace them running 3 years old now and still working like new
SkullDemon75@reddit
keyboards and mouses GOOD, i even bought a power supply from them thats still going strong 2 years+ speakers? they just died on me today and they didn't even last a full year so keyboards and mouses and hell even power supplies yes, speakers is a no go
drkshock@reddit
I know this is old but I've had my red dragon keyboard fo7 years and never had an issue until now which is partially my fault. I was flooring a can of soda into a cup of ice and using a folder as a coaster butit was unsable and the glass spilled over and hlgot all over my desk and got in my keyboard sobthebp sticks and you really have to push the e button for it to work and did effect my performance a birstleback when playing dota because I couldn't activate the active effect from aghs shard. That also means I can't play lol or anything that uses e so I now have to press f to pay respects
mrammir1@reddit
For anyone who might still see this..
If you are considering buying from ReDragon, I strongly recommend it.
I have had the k512 rgb keyboard since august 2021, and m711 cobra mouse since april 2022. They both still work perfectly, like new. Not one switch is broken or lagging etc.
Will definetely always buy peripherals from them.
JohnnyAndTheVoid@reddit
"the gear they make is good"
no.
Lightbulb2854@reddit
Compared to what, may I ask? A 300 dollar custom Keychron?
JohnnyAndTheVoid@reddit
In my entire life, I've gotten one decent quality Redragon KB/mouse set. Lasted about 18 months or so; which for the price point - and considering I smoke cigarettes while using it - is quite respectable. That was the first product I got from them, and it was what set me down the path of continuing to buy their stuff.
Problem is, since then I've had four consecutive sets that have had the lights die in 1-2 months and dead keys shortly after. The last one having had unreliable keys right out of the box which would randomly stop working and proceed to take 20+ pressings to finally start registering again, at which point they would resume normal function for however long it happened to be until the next incidence of the behavior. On top of all this the mouse wheels generally go bad (read: opposite-direction scrolling and unreliable button presses) within 3-6 months at most every time.
So TL;DR and to answer your question more directly: In comparison to their own equipment from a scant couple of years ago, and in comparison to multiple brands at the same entry-level price point which take much longer to manifest similar problems.
Blastbladevx@reddit
How so? I've been using one of their keyboards for a while, and ended up getting one of their mice. I've been happy with the quality of them, but what about you, why do you dislike them?
JustAnotherPersonDA@reddit
I know I'm showing up late to the party, but for anyone still here I will recommend red dragon to any and all without hesitation. The build quality to price point is bonkers. I have had my keyboard/mouse bundle Red dragon Kumara K552 And M901 Perdition gaming mouse over 4 years. My keyboard is just beginning to have double stroke/missed keystrokes but that's it. I'm honestly a bit disappointed they discontinued the M901 cause I would absolutely replace with a newer one. 10/10 would recommend.
In other products I convinced my dad to use one of their gorgeous RGB power supplies in his newest build. Just like all their other products, this thing amazes me at the quality you get for such a low price point.
EvieIsHereYAY@reddit
I've been looking at getting some of their products; Keyboard, controller, desk mat, and speakers w/ sub-woofer. I don't know specifics off the top of my head but the prices are hard to beat. is anyone has personal experience with any of these please let me know. Thanks!
AugustusCaesar9182@reddit
great products
MathStock@reddit
Ive bought 2 keyboards and a MMO mouse from red dragon.
One keyboard is great. Heavy, smooth clicks. I'd buy again. Kamura k552 or similar.
2nd keyboard I thought was the same is pretty trash feeling. Sticky feeling keys, super light, plastic. K671. Stole a few keys and continued to use the Kamura.
The mouse is alright. Cheap. 12 thumb buttons are not great feeling. It's light af. Prob wouldn't order again.
Capable_Ad_1318@reddit
Question semi related to this, but is there any chance that anyone knows if the redragon keyboards will connect with an iPad? Asking cause I got the Magic Keyboard for the iPad a few years ago and I hated it so much. It felt terrible to type with, I got scratches all up my forearm from sharp edges, and despite having small hands, it still felt cramped. I want a full sized keyboard that I’m not afraid to travel with, so I can type on the go, and redragon seems like the best option for that. A decent cheap keyboard that I’m not afraid to take with me on the go.
Sea_Emu6229@reddit
isn't the iPad magic keyboard like 2 thirds the cost of the iPad itself?
Capable_Ad_1318@reddit
Yes, still not worth it, they are terrible. Or at least it was for me. Just buy the cheaper keyboard that works better, trust me
Sea_Emu6229@reddit
So would it be better just getting like a bluetooth keyboard or something?
Capable_Ad_1318@reddit
Yes, just make sure it’s compatible with Mac, that’s all
Sea_Emu6229@reddit
alright thanks
camogamer469@reddit
I think give them 5 more years and they will join the pricing of corsair or Logitech so I'd grab them now while they are still cheap.

i had the k552 kumura they say its water proof what i accidentally dropped less that a dime ammount of water on it and it didnt work anymore but the K630 and the K617 FIZZ are the best ones you can find these days
dollyaioli@reddit
from personal experience using both brands, Red Dragon is very similar in quality to Razer. IMO, Razer is only worth the extra money if you plan on using their fancy downloaded software.
i enjoyed my Red Dragon much more because the switches on my old Razer keyboard bothered the hell out of me. they were SO loud and clacky.
jdslipknot@reddit
theyre cheap for a reason. but that being said, i had great luck with their products. im using their low profile keyboard and still runs good after 2-3 something years of heavy use.
brands like redragon is geared towards people like me who arent willing to fork exorbitant amounts of money for brands like razer for example but wants something durable enough that when it finally breaks, i dont feel bad about it.
also the fact that the redragon keyboard im using (K589 Shrapnel) has replaceable keys for its price is kinda crazy if you think about it.
Wolf_X307@reddit
The keyboard and mouse are great other stuff feels more like a 3rd party video game cheap and not well made

i have a redragon lakshmi that i've using for 2 yrs, good for the price as its user-friendly to mod

I've good a microphone from them, I've got it for 3 years, used for two and a half, it's still kicking, but I'm just using my headset one now as a table mic uses too much space.
-F10@reddit
May I ask you which microphone?
theguyintheguy@reddit
Got a Redragon wired mouse (i think it was storm?) and a headphone. The headphone lasted around 2 years, after which one of the foams came out, the foam covering on both *completely* came off, and the sound on it commited suicide. The mouse I've had for 3 years, working great so far. If you want a decent wireless headphone for *cheap*, I think you should try boat, as I bought their Rockerz 551 anz for an insane discount. It has ANC, ambient mode, and so much more. But if you want headphones from *redragon specifically*, try the ones I got, a Redragon Ares. Really cheap, mediocre sound quality, decent mic, and it will last around 2 years before going suicide mode. Their products are durable and cheap, but do not expect to get some high end surround-sound or noise-cancellation.
AncientVegetable5300@reddit
I have recently bought Redragon mouse idk which mouse it is its wireless and also very good very comfortable for gaming i think it cost around 36$ usd but i am happy its also very big and look like a 100$ mouse because my cousin guess its price ,Lol
