Send it

Dispatch said not to send it, but I think they're being overly safe so I just went ahead and drove with the tires like this for 400 miles anyways. They're fine, right?

But can you make this next load real quick then....

Still a way to go before you get to the rim. When the rim starts sparking, slow down to 60, and it will be fine.

Well if you completed the 400mile trip then obviously it was safe.

Limp it*

Pft, I've never seen a centipede limp. I've got 17 other tires, I'll be good as long as those dang stinking bears stay away from this easy target

AustinLostIn@reddit

Well, I mean it does the limping on its own. Definitely do your thing lol 👍🏻

All jokes aside (if it hasn't been obvious), I definitely didn't drive on this. Just figured I'd get in on the fun in this sub that's been happening recently about the complete opposite of this. Person posting totally fine tires and complaining that they're unsafe to drive on. Haven't been driving long, but have refused 2 or 3 trailers due to shit like this, the magic words "this isn't safe" in conjecture to a slew of other reasons always gets the 'ok' from dispatch. Just gotta know the key words so they don't try and goad you into taking something and risking *your* license. Safety always has your back

Rookie, everyone knows if you see wire put some duct tape over it Then send it. Common my dude, gotta be safe out here.

Also, it’s not a steering tire, so it’s ok.

On pump 420 with a basketball pump, it just keeps hissing at me

BCouto@reddit

Just take a sharpie and draw some tread on it. Problem solved.
View on Reddit #28489020

Human_Lecture_348@reddit (OP)

Gonna take some extra care and time and carve some new treads with a knife, good thing these tires are rubber all the way through!

Wad there any damage to the mud flap or frame rails
View on Reddit #28491681

Human_Lecture_348@reddit (OP)

Extra dirty, maybe some burnt/shredded rubber stuck to them
View on Reddit #28491932

Critical-Shift8080@reddit

Cool , no major damage just get a new tire , and make sure they match the tread depth or there will be chipping and cupping. 3 million miles safe

Does it still hold air? Send it. No air? Put some gorilla tape on it and air it up.

Any good driver knows that you have to strive to complete the order first before you let something petty like this to get in your way- Why else do you think that they gave you eight wheels? You’re mostly safe!!

I wish I could post it, I have a 📸 from a trailer tire that looked like it used as a teething toy for gremlins. It amazes me how many people obviously don't do a pre-trip.

Cars have a cloth sock you can put on your tire in place of a tire chain. My dude is just using the steel version of the same thing
