Why do admins dislike NetworkManager?

Curious to know why admins dislike NetworkManager. If you do dislike it ... have you taken a look at it recently? Has it gotten any better?

There are a lot of admins who would prefer the old network init scripts that were effectively bash scripts, but they didn’t handle a lot of dependency issues, nor could they start the network after the boot.
