How exactly are you supposed to do the hazard perception car test? And do you have any tips for passing it?

I found it easy treating it like a game. You have to click when hazards are developing and not just when they occur. I remember one example driving up a street you can see kids in the distance playing football, as soon as you see them you click as potentially that ball could be kicked into the road, I don't think it did in the end but then potential hazard was there. Also in the same one there was a guy up a ladder on the pavement, when you see him you click because you need to be aware he might fall into the road. Another example I remember was driving down country lanes, there were loads of blind bends, every time you approach a bend you click because you don't know what's around the bend, there could be nothing or a sheep/broken down car etc, you click for the potential of a hazard. I think there was also one coming to some traffic lights with 3 lanes, the left hand lane to turn left, central to go straight in and right to turn right. In the right lane there was a car indicating left and was easy to miss but it's a potential hazard because they are in the wrong land and are going to try and get across the lanes. A lot of people fail because they click when they see a hazard but they don't click for potential hazards or for when the hazard is forming, if you only click when for example someone falls off their bike into the road you fail because you should see the bike earlier and be aware that they might fall off, it's too late reacting when it happens you need to act before it happens.
