Best way to get vehicle history report?

u/Agreeable-Finish-375 did both major reports for me extremely quickly and very affordably, and I found that the salvage title vehicle I was looking at had a "very severe" impact with a tree - got different things from each report. Recommended!

i used to pay $45 for carfax too until i found a way to get full reports for $5 - now i run every single vin before wasting time on a test drive. you’d be surprised how many “clean” cars are hiding stuff. better to know before even messaging the seller.

Dealers get a monthly subscription with unlimited reports, dont pay individually for Carfax reports. As far as I can tell Carfax is the best, providing more information for services, accidents and Liens. Autocheck is somewhat cheaper but not by much, try that one, its not bad and has almost same information. I any case I would make sure to check vehicle history before buying a used car, especially from a private seller, your never know.

Yeah probably worth it to just get the car fax or I'll look into auto check. Lots of retired people here I'm planning on buying cash hoping for one owner. I had a used mercury Milan that was owned by a old guy immaculate history got oil changed every 3500 miles almost to the exact mile. Hoping for that scenario. I see alot of adds like elderly owned or selling for my mother in law ECT but that's obviously very easy to just type in a AD might even be worth asking them if they'd be willing to send me a car fax. You never know maybe they'll pay for it or split it with me
