Do electric air dusters work well and worth it over compressed air cans?

I need to dust my keyboard and I can either buy a compressed 10oz air can for $9 or invest in a Chinese electric air duster. Anyone tried them before and know if it works well enough to be worth $60? How often do I dust my keyboard, you ask? Less than I should, because compressed air is expensive.

Literally bought one and got it yesterday.
Answer is yes!!! Works 100x better than canned. My biggest concern was the “static” issue but after hours of research (googling) it seemed safe and I went for it. I was able to clear dust from every nook and cranny while cleaning out my desk and keyboard.
Definitely worth it. Grab a good one too!
Edit: here is the link to the one I purchased.

Hey u/NoirTank people are desperate for your response, even two years later. This is the first post to be recommended by Google, and a well researched option is deeply desired!

Electric dusters are more environmentally friendly (and cheaper long term) than canned air, but you need to make sure you get an ESD/static discharge safe duster from a reputable company.
IE not a shitty Chinese one off of Amazon from a company that won't exist in 2 months once you figured out they were lying to you about the 'ESD safe' aspect of their shitty cheap product.
If your only options are literally either canned air or a cheap Chinese duster just use the canned air.

Are there reputable brands other than DataVac?
CAS-14@reddit
Hey did you ever find out? DataVac seems super overpriced but I don't wanna risk static damage.
writetowinwin@reddit
I've been through this... Got a few cheap amazon air dusters. They work but are less powerful than a can of air. Looking back I should had just got an actual air compressor.
Squidgy-Metal-6969@reddit
There are low power ones and high power ones. An air compressor might be overkill.
unevoljitelj@reddit
What is esd safe duster? How does that work? I call huge bs on this... i also call bs on air creating enough static to do any damage whatsoever, so..
Squidgy-Metal-6969@reddit
There is can be carbon in the plastic which increase its conductivity, making it electrostatic dissipative. Ideally, it would incorporate an ioniser which would impart positive and negative charges to the air in equal measure so that any material which would otherwise build up a charge would have it neutralised but I'm not sure they exist.

I felt stingy using a $5 can of air to clean so i barely did it. After getting a datavac i clean my battlestation weekly.
I clean my keyboard, pc, chair, and table top.

Wow Datavac is expensive. I don't think $100 up front is worth it for me since I currently live alone, but good to hear the utility is good.
RedModsRsad@reddit
Check out XPOWER A-2S Cyber Duster Multipurpose Powered Air Duster, Blower. I hear it is a solid alternative to datavac.

You can get different brands for like $50 or $60. Compare that to a 3 pack of air cans for $10 that may last a couple months. If you use it even monthly youll pretty much get your moneys worth.
MrFreeweed@reddit
I know this is an old post but 2 years later canned air is almost 10 bucks a can now and you have to get the secret service at walmart to unpack them lol. I remember when you could get packs of 5 for 5 bucks. Anyways hope all is well im looking for a midteir electric compressor =)

Here is a stupid question: why not use a cheap compressor?
AdRude3688@reddit
Vacuum cleaners can create a static charge that may damage capacitors and transformers, which are essential electrical components in computer hardware. Using compressed air, along with 91% or 100% isopropyl alcohol, is an effective way to remove dust and prevent moisture from electrical components and even home appliances.

I have a small shop vac in my garage that I use to vacuum my car sometimes. I could remove the hose from the suction end, and mount it on the exhaust end. It's loud, not too big (2-1/2 gallon size), and I ASSuME it would work better than a cheap Amazon electric air blower. Btw, why is it better to blow than suck - air on pc?
mamasteve21@reddit
My assumption is because the air hits the dust harder when it's blowing and dislodges it more easily.
