Are you happy BGT is now really World's Got Talent or would you prefer it to revert back to its original format of only/mainly British contestants?

I would find it interesting to see the consensus on this. 20 years ago it was only/mainly UK residents but now acts are coming from all over the world to participate. The good thing is the standard of performances have risen, but the bad thing is that British talent are competing on the worldwide stage now and thus are less likely to even be shown on air let alone win. What do you think about this?

Program should be taken off tv for miss leading the public. And should be .or a new rule if your from abroad you can't enter. British people only and they should have to show ID to proof there British citizens

I really don't mind. I don't even mind if they're famous in another country. The only thing I don't like is when they try to hide it and we have to have som silly story told to us about them coming from nothing, this being their first ever chance, etc. I think that's often the fault of the producers of BGT rather than the individuals though.

These acts are plucked from other countries "got talent" shows and put on BGT. I would be surprised if even 10% of the contestants are genuine applications where they've applied to go on themselves. The majority are asked to go on or chosen by producers. Wasn't the person that won it a professional singer already? So not exactly unknown. Most reality TV shows are the same. The people on them already have some level of being known.

It doesn't remotely bother me that a chunk of the talent isn't actually from Britain. That said, I do think they should probably change the title to be a little more accurate.

The secret to these shows is NOT to win it. This applies to all of these types of shows, Talent, X Factor, even Bake Off. Acts who are eliminated in the quarter or semi finals tend to have a lot more freedom and less pressure to do what they want after the show, rather than being tied into contracts. Look at Susan Boyle, Olly Murs, Stacey Solomon, Rylan…. Even One Direction. None of them won the shows they were on but all have great media careers, often eclipsing the people that won their series.

I haven’t watched this terrible show for several years now but they’ve had non British acts on it for years, this isn’t anything new. A non-British act would come on, Simon would ask why they came all the way here for this show and they would say “because its the best” and Simon would nod and the crowd go WOOOOO and it happened every year. So basically nothings changed it seems. It’s still the same show it was years ago which is why most people are bored of it.

They have clearly just run out of big British acts who would want to appear. Most of them are professional acts and invited, it would be quite limiting to make it UK only. They can build it up too as "all the way in from Germany" or whatever. I don't think it has ever really pretended to be like the X Factor, finding pure amateur talent off the street (which that doesn't do itself anyway for the most part).

Couldn’t give the slightest shit either way if I’m being honest! I think other than maybe the first ever one which I did watch it’s always just been that same repetitive shit each year. Go home and wash, cook dinner, sit in front of TV on sofa, watch same shows each year with the occasional bit of variety.
