I never watched the X-Files, but 2 of my female best friends did, and they were nerds and proud nerds at that.

Happy memories here.my mom and I religiously watched x files and would call each other and watch it while I was at college. I've researched them all once again and while it has its ups and downs I still appreciate it even when David took a break for Californication.

I tell younger people to watch seasons 1-5, the first movie only, seasons 6, 7, and 11 LOL (they can do what they want of course). You're right, there were some duds, but maybe I should revisit the David break? I think most important were the memories as it stayed together through a lot of changes in our lives - high school to college to grad school or whatever everyone was up to.

I remember watching first season eps at sleepovers at my best friend’s house but wasn’t a religious viewer until about 1997, when I started actually looking up fanfic on the school computers.

Same here! As it got into our college years we'd get together Sunday evenings: Futurama -> Malcolm in the Middle -> X-Files. Always a good time.
