Do you remote wipe a lost/stolen laptop with Bitlocker enabled?

Not the OP, but my org used to buy Computrace. It did recover at least two stolen laptops I'm aware of (not in my department, so my knowledge is limited). We stopped buying it when full-disk encryption became standard - we found that over time, we didn't have enough stolen machines to justify the cost of the subscriptions, relative to retrievals. The other main worry was data leakage, and encryption was considered the gold standard for compliance, there. I don't trust FileVault or Bitlocker as far as I could throw them, though. Over the long term, who knows if they'll be broken? Filevault 1 wasn't worth much, for example. So if my org had stringent secrecy needs, I'd insist on both encryption, remote wipe, and computrace for physical retrieval if at all possible. Wiping an encrypted SSD is iffy anyway. You're basically relying on "losing the key" as the silver bullet, and hoping that in the future, no one figures out some critical flaw in bitlocker's algorithm and creates a 5-minute unlocker/data rebuilder tool.
