What happened to all the extra stuff that was on the Discovery Channel website?

Watching the episodes there are plenty of short blurbs where they say, "Want more? Go to discovery.com to see what we couldn't fit into the episode!"
Did this stuff get uploaded to YouTube?
JimJamboBambo@reddit
I never watched them on the site, but a lot of the Aftershow stuff is on Discovery's youtube channel

IM NOT SURE........................ DID you find the answer? Did you find it Mr Krabs
pepetolueno@reddit
I found a bunch of the after show clips in a torrent ages ago, they are part of my collection now. They are probably still out there.

What?? Haha
Archangel_Mikey@reddit
No, the corporation that owns discovery dumped it. No immeidate return of revenue. That’s what happened to 80% of the content.
Owners are out of touch with the viewers.

And unfortunately, alot of big media corporations didn't care for media preservation either.
So much good digital content has been lost forever because of this.
Jgorkisch@reddit
It’s not new or just digital. Look at the case of the BBC recording over tapes of Doctor Who from the 60s for example so episodes are lost to time.
Master-Collection488@reddit
Every great once in a while an old tape gets discovered somewhere.
What I SUSPECT is the reason this happened is the way syndication used to work BitD. Each "spoke" on the syndication wheel gets a backup episode to hang onto and air in an emergency if the station before them in the wheel fails to get it to them on time. What I THINK sometimes happened is that if a station stopped airing the show (particularly those in other countries) Auntie Beeb's overseas syndication arm wasn't super-diligent about getting those "spare" tapes back.
As an aside, these "spare episode" tapes are the main reason why there's people on YouTube selling dubs of ancient pro wrasslin' and ersatz/classic Roller Derby/Roller Games. Stations dropped the shows, promoter didn't bother getting old/worn tape back, "that hoarder guy" at local stations kept the tapes and eventually copied to VHS and eventually digitized 'em to DVD/Blu-Ray and/or just uploaded to YouTube.
The derby and wrestling promotors didn't NEED to be all that diligent about putting copyright indicators at the ends of the shows, because those shows were unpaid advertising for their live tours. The local stations that aired wrestling/derby before cable caught fire usually didn't pay a cent for those shows. The deals were that they could air the shows for free so long as they provided some ad spots for local tour stops and the station got to sell their own ad slots and keep all the proceeds of that.

Id wager that the large pbay emu packs contain games that are no longer physically available or readable anymore and thus would be lost without the high seas.
TheRainbowDog@reddit
You could try using the way back machine
CaptainJZH@reddit
unfortunately it doesn't look like the videos themselves can be viewed that way: https://web.archive.org/web/20121125031957/http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/videos/m5-aftershows.htm
Since the videos relied on Flash Player to run, which is now defunct (Wayback Machine does use some sort of Flash Emulator to try and get them to play, but it doesn't seem like it works here)
TheRainbowDog@reddit
Ah well! It’s always worth a shot
Designer-Slip3443@reddit
Has someone asked Adam on Tested?
NASTYH0USEWIFE@reddit
Most of it got deleted after the show finished airing. The majority of those extra clips were just things cut for the US versions and have been preserved in the international cuts that are available on
Dominus_Invictus@reddit
Yet another reminder of the importance of piracy if these corporations are just going to throw shit away

As much as I wish I was just being a smartass - the WB Discovery merger happened.
shanejayell@reddit
Some. I saw the 'Mythbusters Aftershow' bits on youtube.

I think this has been asked a couple of times. I’m always hoping that some random person has found a solution but so far I think the consensus is they have been deleted and probably gone for good
