Where in the UK can I solve a murder?

I'm a big fan of small-town murders, massively enjoyed Father Brown, Midsomer Murders and all that Miss Marple stuff. I'm moving to the UK from Canada in about a year and wondering what small town/village I should live in (or visit) to get myself embroiled in a murder mystery and potentially solve it. It's been a long-time dream of mine to do this (ask anyone who knows me!) so I'd like to get some options together now. Can anyone suggest some places? Thanks!

You know, I always wondered that about Father Brown. With nearly everyone being murdered in the village (one by one, of course), it's a wonder the place is even populated at all. Must be easy to find a rental there, which is a bonus for me.

By complete coincidence it's been my dream for about 30 seconds to be a serial killer in a sleepy village, and watch while a bumbling, overly enthusiastic (north) American tries to find me. We should co-ordinate our dreams! You pick the sleepy village and I'll strike when you least expect it!

Well I’m not sure about the real thing, but you can sign up for a murder mystery night in the UK - not sure if Canada has something equivalent, but we went on one for a friend’s birthday and it was great fun!
