I think my friend has died. I cannot find anything to be sure. I've been going mad for 3 years. No one knows 😔 he was very quiet, he moved around a lot. I wish I told him how I felt.

I'm curious if the OP was successful with any of these methods? I'm in a similar situation, wanting to search to see if someone is deceased and am having no luck. It seems the GRO currently only goes back to 2022. I need to confirm a recent death in the last two months.

If they have just died, then probably best to do an internet search for funeral notices. Most - but not all - undertakers normally put notices of upcoming funerals on their website or in a newspaper. If you know where they would have died, then you could ring up the local undertakers and ask if they are arranging a funeral for the person. After a period ( not sure how long) it should be possible to search for the Death Certificate. It will help a lot if you have full details of the deceased name and date of birth and likely place of death
