Mexico for rgent Dental Surgery

I live in the U.S.. My partner and I are planning to move to Guadalajara Mexico in the next year. However, we have a medical emergency we cannot afford to take care of here in The States and still be able to move.
About 3 months ago my partner had LANAP done to their gums to get rid of the gum disease. Not taking into account the lost wages, the procedure was almost $9000. Now I have to have the same or similar procedure myself. We simply cannot afford it here.
Is there anyone in Mexico who can advise me on how to go about finding a place to have this done in Mexico? I have tried looking for someplace to have it done but I have had no luck in that nothing I have looked at on the web is in any way clear to me.
If they exist (which I haven't been able to figure out if it does or does not), is there a reputable medical/dental tourism agency I can contact that may be able to help? I would also be comfortable using a reputable concierge type of person.

I know this was 3 years ago, but any updates? And about your partner getting LANAP, what do you mean by "it's like having a new set of gums"? Can you tell me the name of her doctor please, sorry for my English, not mu first language

My partner and I have since separated. It turns out she was misdiagnosed in the states. I don't recall what she was finally diagnosed with.

I'm sorry to hear about the separation. I hope you are both doing well.
Did you end up doing LANAP? And may you please elaborate on what you mean that she was misdiagnosed?

I honestly don't recall the details.

I see this was a while ago … does someone have the contact info?

I would like to get it as well. Anyone? LANAP referrals in Mexico?

I live in GDL and also have perio disease. Before reading this post, I'd never heard of LANAP. I've had multiple flap surgeries over the years.
I was googling around the city and can't find an exact match. It may be called something different here or I may not be searching correctly. I did find a VERY HIGHLY rated dental clinic here in the city. My suggestion is to contact them and ask if they do it or can refer you:

4.9/5 out of 170 Google reviews: https://goo.gl/maps/RkaoR5yDtdqVBnDf8
Please do let me know what you discover as I'd be interested in this myself.

Check out the procedure. My partner had been dealing with gum disease for over a decade. At 4 months it is like they have a new set of gums.

Definitely interesting in anyone you find who does this in Mexico. Here they don't even measure pockets as part of routing cleaning/checkup unless you ask for it.

What do you mean by "measure pockets". And this was aimed at Mexico?

Periodontal pockets

Hey, I used to live in Guadalajara for 6 years. My dentist is amazing, he studied his masters in spain. I still go back to him. For reference , my bf from England also goes with him and loves the service. Here’s his phone number +52 (1) 33 1429 0049 his name is Elias Sanchez. He can help you with finding a specialist for the LANAP there. Or probably do it himself, I’m not sure if he’s doing that laser procedure since I’ve never had issues with my gums.
Guadalajara has amazing first world dentist care. Honestly you don’t have to worry about going anywhere else. Just text him, he’ll help you for sure.
Best of luck!

Do you know if he does LANAP? Looking for this and came across your comment.
Information on this doc online is very sparse

I want to thank respoders for your helpful input. I have an appointment for early January in Guadalajara. I really appreciate your kind efforts!

Did you have a good experience? I have been quoted $20K for a gum graft and am looking to get it done in Mexico. I have a friend who lives near Guadalajara and could easily make a trip there to get it done.

Did you end up getting the procedure done in Mexico?
Palamine-o@reddit
I have not gotten it done yet. Looking into the local dental school first and possibly a second opinion on how much of this work is really necessary.

This was actually posted via my account by my ex-wife. however, I can answer this and other questions about it.
yes, her experience was stellar! She was misdiagnosed in the US. the dental surgeon in Mexico found out she actually needed a root canal and a tooth replacement aside from that.
She did not end up going through an agency. She looked for offices on her own and arranged the travel and lodging herself. Ironically, her getting the work done there and also paying for a friend to travel with her was about the same price as having it done here in the United States out of pocket.
I myself will be facing the same procedure you are getting in a few years. With my gum issues, it is inevitable. I will likely be going to Mexico to have it done.
