It's the mark of a bad game imo, any decent RPG has at least one monster that's immune or resistant to physical damage. Otherwise it's just a brainless hack and slash
like literally one.. and most of them there'll be some special weopon work around like the elderscroll series unenchanted like iron/steel weopons won't hurt some mobs. but no one ever notices because you use those for maybe the first 20 minutes of the game.
It's a silly mechanic most devs don't have the balls to make a real thing.
Another way of making a good balance IMO is to make physical damage non-immune/resistable but make it deal significantly less damage than magic does. This way you have an option that's always available to you but doesn't perform really well and another option which is really good but is limited
That's what I do to cope with schizo stuff.
Make sure you keep your willpower high so you can always pass skill checks on OF Succubus spells and not end up getting charmed or confused or any of those things.
