For me it's like a dream I wish would never end, the experience is worth more than money or material things ever could barter for. I may not be old as one would think to have the experience that I'll try exsplain here, but what I was exposed to in my youth is better than love and worse than hate. At 6 years old I was allowed to do what ever I wanted within the company of ww2,Korean and Vietnam veterans who were family, who were alcoholics, murderers and heros with cigar boxes filled with severed ears, and war metals. Some were half breed commanche rednecks, others had reddernecks, and were cold blooded killers without a doubt and could only show their hearts when they made things blow up, or die, preferably both as I look back. They taught me how to eliminate a threat and fetch beer, firewood. Their resources came from, trapping, pulpwood and farming. What's some may see as sick, sad and maniacal is in fact,on the other side of that coin was how these people lived to ripe old ages utilizing common sense and bare necessities. There's things ill never whisper, but these men were my family and heroes. When they were puking drunk crying I would get them whatever I could itf they asked even if it was illegal, toxic or both and I had not many choices. It was a short period of time between 1976-1986 in my life that as a young boy I got to hear, learn from people of a whole nother caliber that's not afforded to most children, it was violent. I was a care giver for 3 of them and the last one was a WW2 vet cousin who at 92,I kept him plenty of whiskey,an open ear,and a human punching bag to help him deal with the Battle of the Bulge at least a dozen times a week, I cannot express the thankfulness of a human being that takes the time to listen and to show care and concern to war vets, elderly people. Just to have the privilege to be in the company of respectful older people gives me what no words can exsplain. The wisdom from this,I learned, isn't easily obtainable, or explainable and giving thanks to a higher power to retain this, keep it bottled and only share it with people who have experienced this.
