I don't mean to be mean but that's a low IQ post. We could totally simulate smell in a digital environment, like as an input node/s and it wouldn't be AGI. Then we could totally fake smells by using a camera and predicting digital smell signals and it wouldn't be AGI. And we could totally measure the amount of particles and the composition that pass through a device connected to a computer, and use that, and it wouldn't be AGI. At that point that's real smelling.
Also, how is general intelligence related to senses. Just because humans have senses, and humans are intelligent, doesn't mean you need senses to be intelligent. Bacteria sense sunlight, they are just bio if else statements. AGI can not be defined by anyone alive today imo
Bacteria are honestly super complex with incredible non-linear capabilities in terms of environmental responses (quorum sensing for instance). We don't even know what half the genes in your average soil bacterium code for. They can also have highly complex transcription patterns and make some pretty incredible chemical use out of a complex environment. We can't even come close to simulating them. And that's just bacteria with literally no nervous system.
Why failed? You are trying to test intelligence. Model knows that it can't smell. You want it to answer "yes"? That will be less inteligent in my opinion.
i sincerily hope that i didn’t offend anyone, was not the scope ofc
just wondering how long it will take to have some AI able to support those who can’t taste or smell
