Canned chilli warning

Normally I eat some canned tuna on a regular basis, but last February decided to get several dozen cans of Stag Chili, as I remembered it from my youth. It says 30 grams of protein per can, so I thought it would work for that supplement, until I tried one for the first time in several decades.
Oh boy how to describe this. It seemed to dehydrate and leave a drained and sluggish feeling, even though I had the regular yogurt and vegetables which usually accompany protein.
It was basically thick beef tallow, I didnt see much actual meat, but yeah immense thirst.
If I had it to do over, I would have gotten actual meat such as more canned tuna or canned chicken, as that would be a viable protein source. This chili will wreck me personally though if I were to attempt to use it.

This was once the best tasting canned chili I'd ever bought.. But now it's changed so much I can't hardly take the smell of it. Definitely something is very different, & not in a good way!
