I like how this is the default response everyone makes under a story of a trans person just living a normal life and being happy, when basically every trans person I've ever met says they strongly prefer transitioned life to repression and wishes they could've transitioned sooner. And even the ones who say they don't like it it's usually because everyone hates them for it, not because they felt like they made a mistake.

Because if you did you'd actually know how vastly transition improves their life, really, and even more so having accepting people in their life and not people who constantly feel the need to "remind" them about how they're delusional and how they don't validate them in the slightest actually improves their lives...

Except they don't nearly have this wide support you claim there is. If you live on the internet maybe, but real life (which many of y'all seem to be completely disconnected from) is absolutely different. Trans people are unrecognised and in many cases treated like shit and berated for their identity. Often enough, they have to fear for their safety as they can often be attacked for the most trivial of things

like, I'll never understand why people do this and tbrh it kinda sounds like dismorphia to me, but a) Nothing was ever cured by violence and shaming b) If they are happier this way then who am I to judge c) Illusion or not, it's definitely more real than our stock market, and we let that control our lifes d) The people that shame HRT tend to be the same that glorify steroids and people have done far worse to their bodies and minds by enlisting to the army anyways so maybe we should all just shut up about this for the time being and wait until enough peer review studies either point out to a solution or tell everyone that there's nothing wrong with being transgender (unless they already did and I'm unaware)

Yea it's really weird to me because I'm not so old that I view being gay as bad, but I'm old enough to remember a time where if being gay was the most interesting thing about you that would actually be really lame. It's totally fine now to define your whole identity around your sexuality--online especially but I've met plenty of people like this offline as well.
