There's something which everyone in the video seems to have in common. I can't quite put my finger on it though...
slnt1996@reddit
Mate you can say they're black. I swear this is the new "now they're cancelling Christmas"
And by the way, they're not doing this because they're black. No race is innately more likely to commit a crime. But if you were capable of comprehending this then you would probably be outside having conversations about systematic racism instead of dog whistling to other failures who need someone else to blame their shortcomings on.
NoB0dy_Really@reddit
Black?
It was that they're male. But if you're seeing race in everything, then that's on you...
Anxious_Middle6328@reddit
That’s what u were gonna say hmm? Sure buddy
slnt1996@reddit
Honestly pathetic

How has the uk turned into such a shithole
Anxious_Middle6328@reddit
It has always been a shithole

What poverty does to people is just sad. We need more investment and funding in these areas as well as opportunities for young people to stop this.
Juggssy@reddit
I wonder why there were not problems like this 40 years ago?
godisgayforbuy@reddit
Not 40 years ago but 60s mods vs rockers, 70s skinheads and hippies andpunks and teds. This isn't new
Godzillaisamonster@reddit
This has always happened, but before the internet & countrywide news, we only ever heard about local stories & it was also under time restraints, news is 24/7 now so it makes a huge difference.
AdMaterial9419@reddit
In the 1970s there absolutely was gang violence.
More than now probably. Just less reported
Godzillaisamonster@reddit
I had 2 lakes boys trying to steal a car outside my home on the Lakes once. It was 2am & they thought it was okay to do, until I ran out after them & caught 1 of them. I marched him up to the phones in Serpentine Court shops & called the Police. His mate came back with a crutch & told me if I didn't let him go, he'd hit me with it. He obviously thought it would hurt, but after hitting my arm, it broke in pieces, so I dropped his mate to the floor & explained very nicely that if he does that again, I'll boot his friends head off. I never got the chance to find out if he'd risk his mate, as the Police turned up & took him away.
The next day I saw him (arrested youth) & his dad in the bookies & they simply put their heads down to avoid looking at me.
It turns out that they had stolen the car from Northampton & had brought it to M.K, so weren't actually stealing it, but simply going to drive around in it when I caught them. I don't care why they did it, that's someone's car & life turned upside down because of stupid kids thinking they can do what they want.
I got told at a later point that 'whispers' had confirmed that the 'Lakes boys' were coming for me, but having lived there for another 3 years before moving on, no one even said anything, let alone did something.
Sadly, weapons are readily available as they always have been & no law will stop these idiots carrying on, because it's inbred into them.
Someone should teach them that they don't need to commit crimes to see their mates in prison, just get a visiting order lol
CharlesWinds0r@reddit
Okay gazza settle down
CodeDominator@reddit
Weapons are only available to criminals. Law abiding citizens in this country are left defenseless.
Godzillaisamonster@reddit
You're wrong 100%. If you're a law abiding citizen, walk into your kitchen & grab a knife. You now have a weapon too :(
autismopete@reddit
Only now you’re no longer a law abiding citizen because you’re carrying an object with the intent of using it as a weapon. That itself is a criminal offence
Godzillaisamonster@reddit
I hope that wasn't aimed at me, because I'm not saying to arm yourself in any way or to walk around with an intention to use it, so you've made that up.
I'm simply stating they are wrong because anyone can get hold of a weapon, so they can't just be available to criminals. If I pick up a carving knife in my home & walk around with it in my home only, I'm not breaking the law, but I also have a weapon readily usable, should I want to.
You can't simply define weapons as available or not, because it's not the case. Instead of applying sense to that, you turn it into me taking a knife outside to use, which has not even been hinted at by me :(
autismopete@reddit
Even picking up a knife in your own home with the intention of using it against an intruder is a criminal offence. As soon as you’re in possession of something with the intention of using it as a weapon it’s a criminal offence. I’m not talking about wandering the streets with a 12” blade, I mean picking up the baseball bat by your bed to confront an intruder. ‘Weapons’ as objects might be available to law abiding citizens but the second you intent on using one, you’re a criminal. Kinda defeats the whole point
Ill-Drink3563@reddit
No it's not, self defence is a thing so feel free to stab that motherfucker who entered your home illegally with unknown intetions.. if you were to stab them while they were running away, that's a whole different story.
waytogoandruinit@reddit
Stop spreading misinformation.
In the UK the law on self-defence is established through a combination of common law (the law developed through court decisions) and statute. The law on self-defence allows a person to use reasonable force to defend themselves or another, to protect property, to prevent crime or to apprehend a criminal offender.
The common law gives guidance that violence used in self-defence must be exercised in accordance with the ‘rule of law’, and the ‘preservation of the Queen’s Peace.’ This essentially means that it can be used in the context of upholding a peaceful and law-abiding society. The relevant statutory laws are:
Criminal Damage Act 1971
Criminal Law Act 1967
Section 76 of the Criminal and Justice Act 2008
The CPS will not prosecute every case of violence used in self-defence because in some cases it might be accepted at an early stage by the police or prosecutor that the use of force was lawful. When making this consideration, the prosecutor will balance the public interest of promoting responsible citizen action towards maintaining law and order vs discouraging vigilantism and use of violence. Where the defence of self-defence is raised, in order to disprove it, the prosecution must prove beyond reasonable doubt that the violence was not carried out in self-defence.
In some circumstances, it could be lawful to stab someone in self-defence. Say an intruder enters your home, you are standing in the kitchen and you grab a knife that you use to defend yourself or your family member. This may be legal if the force used is considered to be reasonable in the circumstances as you honestly believed them to be.
This could be the case even if you killed the intruder.
If you had an honest but mistaken belief that the intruder was armed – for example if they reached inside their jacket and you thought that they were pulling out a weapon – then the force that you used in stabbing them could be taken to be reasonable. However, if for example you stabbed the intruder as they were attempting to flee your home, the court may be less likely to accept that you acted in self-defence.
Stabbing someone in response to a much less severe assault against you is unlikely to be lawful self-defence. If you are in a pub and someone punches you, stabbing them in turn would probably be considered to be grossly excessive. In those circumstances, you may still be liable for a criminal offence.
You are entitled to use force in order to protect yourself, your family, and your property against an immediate threat. You do not have to wait to be attacked first in order to use force to defend yourself, your family, or your property.
However, you must be acting reasonably and in good faith. CPS guidance suggests that if the householder is confronted by an intruder in their home, wherever possible they should call the police. The guidance recognises that it can be difficult in the heat of the moment to know what level of force is appropriate. You are not expected to make ‘fine judgments’ in this regard, and ‘so long as you only do what you honestly and instinctively believe is necessary in the heat of the moment, that would be the strongest evidence of you acting lawfully and in self defence.’ This applies even where you use something ‘to hand’ as a weapon. In some cases, force that has resulted in the intruder’s death has been found to be lawful self-defence. The force must be proportionate to the threat. This means that, for example, if the intruder is armed, a higher level of force will be permissible in self-defence.
If you use disproportionate force to protect yourself or another person, the law will give you the benefit of the doubt. However, disproportionate force to protect property could still be unlawful. Where the court finds that the force that you used was ‘grossly disproportionate’ or was enacted in revenge, this may go beyond what is considered acceptable self-defence.
ApertureUnknown@reddit
You sound like a lot of use in an emergency situation. A burglar's dream.
Godzillaisamonster@reddit
Will you stop! I've NEVER stated any intention of using any type of weapon, so stick to facts or don't reply. If I pick up a carving knife to cut a roast up ONLY, I still have a weapon in my hand ffs!
CodeDominator@reddit
You don't see the irony in this statement? Knife is a lethal weapon. In this country women are not even allowed to carry completely non-lethal pepper spray to defend against rapists and such.
Godzillaisamonster@reddit
No I don't. This is at times, a life threatening issue, so irony shouldn't be used & making out my comment is doing it, is 100% wrong.
You stated weapons are only available to criminals & that's just not true at all. If you wrongly assume that's irony, you need to look things up to understand them correctly.
A piece of wood is deadly when used the wrong way, so can most other things be.
Again you're 100% wrong, because an ex partner of mine showed me her rape alarm. Its specific use is to deter rapists from attacking people, because unlike you, I know it isn't just women who get raped.
You're comments make it sound like everyone should be allowed to carry weapons in case they need to defend themselves, but then we are no better than the criminals, but also become a country like America, where shootings happen in schools etc... & happen regularly.
No thanks.
CodeDominator@reddit
Or we could become a country like Finland, or Switzerland, or many other very highly civilized countries that have lots of weapons and no school shootings.
I am so tired of the retarded argument "Brits are too stupid and violent to be allowed to have weapons for self defense".
Godzillaisamonster@reddit
Yet again, you're making up comments that no one has stated in here.
Is there a reason you can't read & reply appropriately?
If you're so tired of a comment I've never heard 1 person ever state until you type it in here, STOP typing it & saying it :)

I think you just became my new hero!
I wish I had the bottle to do something like that.
Godzillaisamonster@reddit
Thanks, it wasn't bottle as such, I was just fed up with being woken up in the early hours by idiots who don't show any respect for anything but themselves.
ggharami@reddit
Thank god I didnt buy a house in Newton Leys
shdanko@reddit
None of this spills in to Newton leys at all
ggharami@reddit
Lakes Estate is literally less than a mile away from Newton Leys. There were many youths from the estate hanging around near Asda when I went for a visit..You must be deluded if you think NONE of these spill in to Newton Leys
mr_bonner94@reddit
A mile is fucking loads in a small town lad
winterproject@reddit
It’s barely that. It’s literally separated by the train line.
shdanko@reddit
Youths hanging around near Asda doesn’t mean they’re part of a violent gang. None of the trouble that this talks about has been experienced in Newton Leys. I’ve been here 3 years and seen nothing like it at all. You’re gonna get cunts everywhere.
Zeratul_Artanis@reddit
I lived in NL for 2 years and left 6 years ago and it often spilled into it then.
Random spates of tyre slashing, smashed windows and car thefts. It's why home and car insurance was so much higher there than before I moved to NL and after I left.
shdanko@reddit
I’ve been here two years and haven’t heard of or seen any of this happening, and you know for fucking sure that that would end up on the community groups
ggharami@reddit
Well youths hanging around in balaclavas is not a good sign. The video talks about Lakes Estate directly. Are you saying Newton Leys and Lakes Estate do not crossover at all?
shdanko@reddit
I’ve not seen anyone in balaclavas. No I’m saying this ‘gang warfare’ doesn’t cross in to Newton leys. Obviously, people from lakes cross over here
ggharami@reddit
So people cross over but gangs do not? I mean, gangs are made of people no?
Cavemans_Club@reddit
Fucking hell mate enjoy your life being scared of stuff you read about on the internet
shdanko@reddit
This isn’t hard. I’m saying the gang trouble doesn’t spill over in to NL. I just said ‘none of this’, referring to the gang trouble in the video. NL is unaffected by gang trouble.
ggharami@reddit
The video says there were guns going off in Lakes Estate. Im sure you would be able to hear the gunshots from Newton Leys as they are like 15 mins walk from each other 😂
shdanko@reddit
Okay and no one heard shit so what’s your point?
ggharami@reddit
You live in a (literal) shithole
shdanko@reddit
Lol I have a lot of gripes with NL and new builds in general, but neither being a shithole nor gang violence are one of them.
mr_bonner94@reddit
Thank god I didn’t buy a villa in Alicante Spain hun 😘
ResearcherWild5020@reddit
Whoever done this video has his facts a bit wrong. I am good friends with SK’s sister and he was not gang affiliated in anyway. R.I.P SK!
Soggy_Personality_76@reddit
100% I know the Brandon they mention is not Gang affiliated at all
ResearcherWild5020@reddit
The one charged with mo’s murder? Heard he was user
Deathturkey@reddit
These idiots need to grow up and stop behaving like children, they always go on about respect a concept they have no idea of.
jtoomer88@reddit
Is this at the centre of all that bollocks up the city the other day? A lot of kids with St Paul’s uniforms on..some of them live in Fishermead right?
bennymk@reddit
That was more just year 10 having a day out
Autotuneiswank@reddit
Chav scum hopefully they'll take each other out
wehere4E@reddit
Being going on for years. First I heard of it like 2012/2013, thought the incident I heard was a bit of a one of. It never slowed down..
Jezleem23@reddit
Gang members in dense, impoverished areas often fall into it due lack of options and peer pressure. Imagine CHOOSING to live your life like this when born in an area that by no means necessitates it. Bunch of children fetishising crime warring with foreign men who can't be arsed to find a job
FuzzyBagpuss@reddit
Scum.
