never thought i'd say this but i'm tired of even having a GUI on my slackware box now. it is so distracting that i cannot seem to do anything anymore. the browsers with the ads, the popups that prevent you from reading anything unless you pay them, automatic news with firefox, the blinding white screen, all of the configurations, the endless terminator tabs, such a nightmare. think i'm just going to go headless with a dark gray screen instead of black and links. the sites that dont load because of javascript, well f**k them, like you said they aren't worth reading anyways! i always end up "BACK"ing instantly.
